Definitely looks like he’ll be a serviceable role player in a few years. Scoot’s gonna be a HoF’er though

😂 so scoot average 16 against same level comp and Miller his first time on the floor scores 18 but he’s a Role player. I guarantee you’re a white boy who can’t even play

Hornets organization has to move along from Rozier and Hayward. LaMelo, Brandon Miller, Bridges, PJ, Mark Williams. Its the east and they could easily get in that 6-11 seed with this lineup.

Wembanyama has a higher ceiling, but I think this kid is the safest pick. He is very similar to PG in his pacer days. He is a little less athletic and aggressive, but his IQ, shooting, and playmaking are all ahead of PG at the same age.

      July 4, 2023 at 12:27 am

Way less athletic, I agree with the IQ Playmaking and Shooter being better though

@RJ miller has sneaky bounce. He dunked on 2 ppl at once and jumped over a kid in highschool

I actually watched the 1st half of this game and he looked absolutely terrible. Bricking shots, not being able to create separation, getting blown-by by SA players and looking lost in the offense. He must have turned it up on the 2nd half.

      July 4, 2023 at 12:09 am

Bricking shots?? He shot 5/11 that’s pretty good

    • Adrian Perez

      July 4, 2023 at 12:25 am

Yes he has that slow release and cant shoot off the dribble. Couldn’t create at all when game mattered thats why he didnt make an impact today.

His most valuable skill is his playmaking, but his ball handling looked pretty damn good too.

What shocked me this game was the defensive hustle at times.

But what didn’t shock me was, well, the defensive inconsistency throughout. Looked either nervous or fatigued; but I think both of those things will change as he gets more in game shape and is exposed to the harsh reality of NBA games. Having LaMelo by his side may help him.

Personally, I’m not high on Scoot or Brandon, at least with respect to Victor, Amen, Ausar, and Bilal. But given Scoot’s newfound respknsibilit83/ to his team, he may inflate his stats more than I thought.

Miller on the other hand has shown glimpses of something very special. Something very reminiscent of a young kevin Martin and a Young TMac spliced into the body of a velociraptor. Like a Mitsubishi meets ANBU version of Diet Brandon Roy.

Horrible 1st half but he had a really good 2nd half. He just needs time, this is his first time against NBA level competition even if it’s fringe level. Not quite the ball handler and shot creator he was advertised as though. Was very clear he needs a quality PG out there with him to get his shots up.

He has like no explosiveness around the rim and finishes super weak everytime, no wonder his around the rim stats were so awful on college, if he’s gonna become anything in this league he needs to work on his first step and finishing.
