I looked up the name on Julian Hall’s shirt, since they said it was not Hall, and he said it was to pay tribute to his Polish mother. His full name is Julian Zakrzewski Hall, and Zakrzewski is what is on the back of his shirt. Out of curiosity, I googled the name Zakrzewski, and the first thing that popped up was “Zakrzewski family murders”, a wikipedia entry. I read the entry and it was about how a USAF sergeant name Edward Zakrzewski had machete murdered his Korean wife and two young children in 1994 in Florida and was finally executed by lethal injection in 2025.
   Oh well.
Lorenzo Hall is his father, and his parents appear to be separated, with Julian living with his mother in Manhatten.

Apparently Poland is trying to get him and he’s still “undecided” which annoys me. Donovan got annoyed by it too. I hope what Poch is building helps keep him.

@megamonster1234 if he is not convinced by this side with guys like Jedi Gio & a former Red Bull alum like Tyler Adams as the captain taking him under their wings and him scoring in his first two matches, I imagine the Mexico game will be massive for his official commitment. That game is going to be hugely competitive and intense with how well both teams have been playing thru the World Cup and seeing that rivalry will truly initiate these young players into the USMNT. it’s a very exciting time for them and us as fans honestly. Pochettino has us not worried about Pulisic by the first camp post World Cup. Best thing the federation has done in my lifetime might be hiring him. We no longer slog thru games like this or Peru trying to win 1-0 off of a set piece or grimy goal or single moment of brilliance. The foundational, minimum level of performance this team now puts out is so much higher than we have ever had in the past. The future is very very bright.

@Snakesontheground I think where he commits may likely be whichever team his mom prefers tbh.

Pochettino has done wonders for this team and program. This is a giant level up from under Berhalter or even the height of Klinsmann. It’s very unfortunate that Trump got involved with the whole Balogun red card thing bc this team had such juice over the summer and it ended more sourly than the players deserved. But we wer SO reliant on Christian Pulisic, for so long and now look… He can not be in a camp and we are not even speaking about him and handfuls of young players the levels of Hall Albert Ellis Mehmeti have come in and not missed a beat, if not even raised the level of the attack because there is such competition for places. I pray Poch sticks this out and is the manager until World Cup 2030 because he is cooking with this program and where it is headed.
