This is why it is hilarious when people say Vince Carter is the best Dunker ever. Yes, he was the best dunker in the NBA, but this guy is several inches shorter and combined two of his iconic dunk.
Be honest. How would Vince Carter have done in this competition if he brought the same dunks from the 2001 competition?

I think it’s more so because the dunk wasn’t really known, was basically the first and most of the dunkers wasn’t athletic like today

Its natural progression…someboday has to be the 1st to do something, then others progressively get better, then the next m, new 1st thing comes along!
JR Rider was the first time i saw between the legs in the early 90s, Vince was the honey dip in the early 00s…we are 20-30 years past those FIRSTS, donyou not think dunking wasnt going to evolve? 🤷🏾♂️

It’s obvious they mean in the NBA, as he did special dunks during the dunk contest and also during games. Show us in game dunks by these dudes? And Vince career was not practicing and perfecting dunks.

Vince Carter isn’t even in the top 1,000 best dunkers of all time if you just look at pure dunkers. He is just the best the NBA has ever had.

Firstly, VC is definitely within the top 1000, unless you are exaggerating. Don’t forget that in the totality of the people who play Basketball, only 10 to 1 percent can dunk, and that’s even including professionals. Second, NBA players touted as the best dunkers are considered the best because they play against the most athletic players in the world and still pull off crazy in-game dunks and posters. Do you think any of the contestants here could slam over a player the way Blake did over Perkins? The way Carter did over Alonzo? Any of Nique’s two-handed slam midgame with the paint crowded with defenders?

You ignorant, bum casual. Vince had the BEST in-game dunk of ALL TIME when he dunked completely over a 7 FOOTER in the OLYMPICS. Never done before , hasn’t been done since. Not to mention all of his electric in game dunks and his iconic 360 windmill that in 26 YEARS I have NEVER seen someone do with the same smoothness/ power. Show respect to VC, these dunkers are on the shoulders of what he accomplished

to all the people saying he’s better than Vince Carter, just stop!! lol Vince Carter was ahead of his time, dunking has evolved, jump training has evolved, put these same guys in Vince Carters era and half of them probably would barely be able to touch the rim most less do his dunks…
