Westbrook is Mr. Thunder: Kendrick Perkins defends his Twitter beef with Kevin Durant | The Jump

Published

on

Rachel Nichols breaks down the Twitter fight between former Thunder teammates Kendrick Perkins and Kevin Durant after Perk said Russell Westbrook was the best player Oklahoma City ever had. Perkins (3:43) starts by apologizing to Westbrook for overshadowing his return to OKC and clarifies that he does not believe that Russ is a better overall player than KD, but stands by the comments he made. Chauncey Billups adds that he doesn’t like the fact that people on Twitter were able to come between the brotherhood that Perk and Durant share.

I don’t think it’s cuz of what he said about Russ I’m sure it was about what perk said about kd getting bounced but go off 🤷🏾‍♂️

At least Kevin Durant made it to the second round without Russell Westbrook.. Russell Westbrook couldn’t even make it to the second round without Kevin Durant. He had Paul George on his team in Carmelo Anthony and he couldn’t make it out the first round so stop it KP

First of all, KD definitely earned the disrespect he’s been getting for the last 3 years for pulling that coward move. Also Draymond and the Warriors get let off the hook but they’re just as cowardly for begging him to join instead of running that same matchup back like true competitors would. But all that being said, Kendrick was wrong here. He started it, so in this beef I’m on KD’s side. Perk didn’t just say Westbrook was the best Thunder player, he said he was the best basketball player to put on a Thunder uniform. You talk for a living now Perk, you gotta articulate yourself better, no excuses. That being said, he also made a good point about the fact that KD also couldn’t get out the 2nd round on that team without Russ. I’m just lost as to why he didn’t let it go after the first handshake. KD was trying to be respectful and not escalate the situation then Perk started it back up lol. Weird situation

KD took the EASY WAY OUT OF EASY WAYS IN THE HISTORY OF EASY WAYS….Period!!! No REAL BASKETBALL PLAYER (I played in Europe) would EVER have made that move to join the team that BEAT them when being up 3-1!!! -King H.

Perk talk is wayyyyy better than his game, u can’t say u lost in the second round like u weren’t a scrub in that round or that u didn’t win urs with Boston Big 4

This is why Kevin is soft. LeBron wouldn’t have responded at all because he knows Perk ain’t in his league. Kinda surprised he didn’t use a troll account this time.

They need to work it out. Brothers fight hardest against each other and for each other. But it was no lies on either side

Come on I was thinking feeling the same about KD and Russ situation but look what Russ’s temperament is against contending players mimicking all that type of stupidity. Did you guys remember when kd was tweeting his extension on his contract and we were praising him how humble he is, I think he probably tired of him and his bullying habits and temperaments. So just look at how mud he was on that against thunder game. This guy has some childish type of habits. KD is much more matured and respectful player period!!!!

I think of Westbrook when I think of the thunder. I think of steph when i think of the warriors. Maybe one day I’ll think of kd when I think of the nets.
