Impressive game against Cholet wherever that is. Why not include he had 2 assists and five turnovers, and has now made a big 7 out of his last 3s in the LNB. At least you included his highlight one three. Very unfair reporting as the media still wants to present him as the best prospect of all-time. Next year he will face Zupic, Lopez, Jokic, AD, Kessler, Nurkic, Sabonis, Gobert in his conference for perhaps 45 games. That’s a handful of big, talented boys.

@juju 32 Juju, it’s not right and it’s not fair to elevate him like this. You don’t know if he’ll even have the heart or the stamina, let alone the skills since he plays facing the basket. And his body is so taut I’m not sure he can out much weight on and not affect him.

@charles cohen you need to also get the part he is a kid man, yes he will face GROWN man next year in the NBA, but at 19 what you were doing? People thinking of him as a full grown man is ridiculous, there are many that are still schooled by all those bigs and Wemby is just starting and he looks polished

@charles cohen but the draft is about potential. We shouldn’t be comparing him to prime Superstars but as the projected number #1 pick it is fair to compare him to other #1 picks and best players from each draft as prospects.
And when evaluated as a prospect, in my opinion he is clearly the best since LeBron.
Also it should be understood that statistically the international game has never really translated, it sounds paradoxical because the talent isn’t nearly as good overseas overall but its harder to score there. Luka is pretty much the only teenager who was dominant over there before being drafted.
Look at what happened the 2 games Wembenyamas team came to the U.S. to play a game vs Scoot Hendersons team playing by NBA rules.
Game 1 37pts 7/11 from 3, 5 blocks
Game 2 36pts 11reb 4 blocks.
Compared to the other top prospect Wembenyama stood out as by far the best talent on the court. I agree if you said it’s crazy to expect him to be dominant in his first 2 seasons but to say he could be the best player in the league in his prime isn’t a stretch.

@felipunkd I was doing nothing too wise, but I return to my point that I am not arguing at all he will be a bust, but from the quite of fees I have seen him he has certain limits such as his handle facing the basket and his reactions when he is outside. Even today in a big game against a minor opponent he had only 2 assists and 5 tos, and continues to shoot poorly from three. But when he had those initial great games he couldn’t miss. His season isn’t over but he should absolutely dominate in the playoffs. But I think all kids should be judged after two or three years in the NBA .

@juju 32 But at the end of the year he hasn’t really gotten better. If you’re bringing up threes, he is now 7 for his last 42, or 17%. And he has not played that many games. Perhaps it’s fatigue from all of the hype pressure but I don’t think he compares to Hakeem, Tim or Shaq in their quickness nor instincts or to Embiid or Jokic but you are saying he will be better than Jokic, Joel and Giannis, all big men. I don’t see it.

Comparing Taiwan to the playoffs French League shows your ignorance about overseas basketball. People were saying the same thing about Doncic when he was dominating in Europe. It’s not among the very best european competition but still, don’t underestimate French League, it’s a very physical and tactical one. Some ex-NBA players failed to sucess in this league.
