NBA is so desperate to create artificial “superstars” so people will watch the conference finals and championship, because apparently the NBA viewership only cares about Lebron and Curry. This is ridiculous – the Pacers don’t win because of Haliburton – they win because they play TEAM basketball and are well coached. On any given night, Turner, Siakam, Nesmith, Nembhard, Mathurin, Toppin, or McConnel might be the reason they succeed. Stop focusing so much on single players – it’s hurting your brand even more than focusing on Lebron/Curry did.

May 19, 2025 at 3:34 pm
Haliburton created this offense. He’s the only reason they are as elite at team ball as they are. Carlisle even stepped back from playcalling and put the reigns in Tyrese’s hands. All of those players can have great nights BECAUSE of Haliburton, not the other way around. Just say you don’t know ball next time.
@Cameleeom
May 19, 2025 at 4:08 pm
@@dylanmoore5714hmm I think you’re both right. Hali is a good offensive mind. The number of games he has with 10+ assists with 1 or 0 TO is INSANE. he elevates their play, and he’s clutch. But he’ll also have some stinkers-he’s the parlay killer. Hali isn’t the reason the other guys hustle their asses off or have shored up weaknesses and the whole team is talented and athletic. It’s just a great pairing all around.

Pacers out here trying to save basketball. So often, NBA coverage is about the egos and the big stars. What makes Tyrese so good is that he raises everyone else with him. These highlights show a lot of other people making baskets, because Tyrese enables that. He’s a great player, and he leads by example. And that example is zero ego, in spite of how he trash talks.
This Pacers team is the highest basketball IQ team, top to bottom, in a very long time, maybe ever. Tyrese makes everyone else better, and everyone else makes him better. They have a team first mentality and just play pure basketball.
The NBA would be so much better off with less ego and off court drama and more teams like the Pacers.

You obviously don’t watch the Pacers. The guy doesn’t need to score 40 every night. He’s a distributor who “can” take over in the end. We have too many players with the abiltiy to score, no need to have another one. 0 ego. The most comparable player would be John Stockton or Jason Kidd. It’s a team game with roles, not hero ball where 1 or 2 guys score all the points to “carry” a team.
