Beautiful game by Ice Trae. 42 points on 61.5% shooting and only two free throws. The rule changes have made him better.

He’s very inefficient as a scorer and his FG percentage is horrible for a guy who primarily is a jump shooter. Atlanta is 5-9 because they find the regular season boring. Fourteen games into the season and they’re looking up at 12 other teams, a few waiting for injured players to return. He’s going to have to play like this all season if they want to return to the post-season.

Bro the hawks have had a tough schedule and the season just started the hawks will be fine. Also 44 35 and 90 doesn’t seem to inefficient to me but think what you want.

He’s putting some ice in Atlanta. Tray (E) Young compared to Paul Lee’s three point field goals in PBA, but now he’s bringing ice in his veins.

That is SO true. In many contexts in the world, it’s so crazy and messed up how narrative and hype and popularity matter more to people than objectivity and truth and etc. i remember watching John Walls entire wizards career and comparing to it other modern guards who were more popular and hyped up by the media instead of targeted by the media, and it drove me crazy. One example is that John Wall averaged the Only stat line in NbA history of 19.4 9.6 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks on 37 percent shooting, followed that up with 26 points 11.6 assists 2.3 steals and 1.3 blocks in the playoffs, and then the following start to the season he has been dropped something like 20 spots in the player rankings and the blurb about him said something like “wall had the worse seaosn of his career and yada yada”. I was like…are you kidding me? If ANYONE else in the league had done that, on top of playing so well in the playoffs and almsot taking down another #1 seed, the media would be all about hyping them up and saying how they need more help and it’s pathetic how little help they have had so far, but not with Wall. With Wall, they always found any way possible to downplay his greatness and highlight his flaws. Like even his 2017 season, as amazing as it was, wasn’t even that much better than the rest of his 5 year all star run, but he just finally had a little bit more help and got a few more calls and was a little healthier

Oh also! I remember when KD made his return from achillies he scored 22 points and it was all over the media the entire day!

John wall scores 22 points with 9 assists and 6 rebounds leading the rockets to their first win of the season, his first game in 730 days after tearing his achillies, and I searched and searched and searched and couldn’t find one National
Media segment about it! Then he went out and had 28 points 6 assists 4 rebounds 3 steals and 2 blocks while harden sat out the next game, took over the game in the 3rd qtr and shut down Fox on the other end, led the rockets to another win, and joined MJ as the only players to ever miss 2 full years of ball and score 50 points in their first 2
Games back, and again? Not a single single single dang comment about it from ANY media. Mind blowing yo. Like insane and wrong. But that’s how it always goes, that’s why people don’t realize how good wall still is and was. Imagine if any other perennial all star Pg had to deal with the harden sabotaging, a brand new coach, injuries and trades and playing with the worst roster in the league so teams were constantly over helping on you, and you managed to average 21 and 7 in your first action since you tore your achillies, and even had stretches where you were dropping 30+ in back to back games, dropping 30s on Luka, Steph, harden, etc, dropping 27 and 13 while playing some great D on Pg13 and keeping your sorry aaz team
In the game agaisnr the clippers…and instead of getting credit for that people just tear you down and entirely ignore it was your first year back from a crazy injury and simply point to your poor FG percent to dismiss everything you did.
It’s crazy bro. Trae Ypung was SO disrespected last year. Then in the playoffs they were forced to respect him for the time being, but as soon as it was over they go right back to disrespecting and basically ignoring him again. I don’t get it. Why is it??? Do you think it’s just that Wall and Trae played for teams
Like the hawks and wizards that don’t have huge media markets? So that’s why the media disses them so hard? It is something anout their confident personalities on the court? Because off of the court they are both great guys as far as we know. I just don’t get it.

I love Ja, I was a huge fan way before he made the NBA as I love college hoops, just like I was a huge Trae young fan in OU, but I gotta admit the more and more the media favors one player for no reason over another I can’t help but find it harder to root for the hyped up player. I love Ja, I just don’t like his fans and the bias sometimes. Lol and didn’t Trae somehow miss the ASG last year??? And eveyone said it was just the FT calls he would
Get that made him great…well…out of ALL of the players who used to get a lot of those calls, Trae is the only one who is still playing at an elite level even without any respect from the refs . Shit is jsut crazy. I can’t stand the casual fans and the biased media!!! Trae Young is SO amazing. I sort of even remember him being disrespected in college as well. Isn’t it mind blowing that some scouts were so
Low on him? I swear some
Scouts are SO bad it’s crazy they have a job. I think those are the ones who aren’t even bball fans, have zero ability to just know and feel the game, so they just look at grading points players as if it were a math problem, and that just doesn’t work. You can’t use math to see that Trae just has that IT factor about him. It’s not jsut his skills, it’s his mental and emotional intelligence that makes him so great. CraY how quickly
People forget his historic playoff run almost all the way to the finals! With the 5th seed! Trae was actually the only player other than John Wall in 2017 who averaged at least 27 points and 10 assists through 13 playoff games. Trae ended up dropping below 10 dimes so he didn’t finish with the 27 and 10, but still, it was the best Pg play in the playoffs we had seen since then.

@Schuyler Savage I love how you broke all that down and you’re right some people discredit him a lot because of the fouls he used to get with moving his body forward to get the call. It was kind of annoying but it was part of the game and in my opinion if something isn’t illegal then why not take advantage of it. Now that the nba took that away I want to see what they will say about trae, I just really started watching basketball more now, I was always a fan but I’m now getting into it more looking at stats. and last season he beat my Knicks pretty bad, don’t get me wrong the Knicks weren’t better than the Knicks now but I just fell in love with the way trae played.
