The Clippers are so far ahead of everyone else on defense – Scottie Pippen | The Jump

Published

on

Rachel Nichols, Brian Windhorst and Scottie Pippen react to LA Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors, in which the Kawhi Leonard/Lou Williams/Montrezl Harrell group dominated Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, D’Angelo Russell & Co. They then (1:44) react to Milwaukee Bucks vs. Houston Rockets, which saw Giannis Antetokounmpo get a triple-double to spoil the debut of the James Harden-Russell Westbrook duo.

The light speed rebuild of the Clippers from blowing up Lob City : that trade with Houston for CP3 especially that led to this fresh championship contender with Kawhi is amazing.
. . . also, I would take this Clippers team (with a healthy Paul George) over Lob City in its prime, any day.

Jerry West is key in my mind. Made a dynasty in LA with Kobe era. Built Golden state. Now were are seeing his effects at the Clippers.

They are definitely a good team on paper but they haven’t played together for a season yet so it’s too early to start saying they’re better than everyone else. They’ve played what one or two games, let them get all their players on the court against another quality team and then we’ll start to see how good they are.

Clips could have held golden state under 100 if they really wanted to but why? The win is not in question, doc wanted to sit kawhi in the fourth. No need to humiliate the opponent

This is the difference between building a team and just putting talent together like Lebron makes organizations do. This is what David griffin was talking about. It takes time to build a TOP TIER team. Not for just a couple years but for the future as well. When you go around trying to put all these prices together, (and giving them too much money) to win a championship your losing the authenticity and the end up trash after a couple years. That’s y he has to moves teams. Get a fresh salary cap and start the vicious cycle again

The biggest potential weakness that I see for the Clippers is their lack of defense at the 4 and the 5. The Lakers failed to exploit this, but bigger teams should look to score in the paint. On the perimeter, the Clippers are going to make it very difficult.

If you know anything about basketball, the Clippers squad should be feared. That defense is going to smother teams..

this is what to expect from warriors who spend all their money on their core and leave nothing else to build a good team.

It’s strong from top to bottom due to one person: Steve Ballmer. He brought in all the pieces except doc Rivers who was there one year before.

Tbh the Clippers look like the most complete team this season of all teams in the NBA it’ll be hard for any team to beat the clippers they have a chance at having one of the top records in history.
