The Atlanta Hawks mount the largest comeback by any team this season as they overcome a 30-point deficit and defeat the Boston Celtics, 120-118. De’Andre Hunter led the way for the Hawks with 24 points (4-8 3pt. FG) and 7 rebounds, while Dejounte Murray added 19 points, 5 rebounds and a career-high tying 15 assists in the victory. Jayson Tatum (37 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists) and Jaylen Brown (24 points, 4 rebounds) combined for 61 points for the Celtics. The Hawks improve to 32-39 on the season, while the Celtics snap a 9-game win streak as they fall to 57-15.

The Hawks 30-point comeback is the largest deficit overcome in a Hawks win since 1997-98, previously:

27 points vs. the Celtics on 1/25/2013

The Hawks are the sixth team since 1997-98 to come back from a 30+ point deficit, joining:

35 points – Clippers over the Wizards on 1/25/2022
35 points – Kings over Bulls on 12/21/2009
32 points – Celtics over Spurs on 4/30/2021
30 points – Raptors over Mavericks on 12/22/2019
30 points – Lakers over Mavericks on 12/6/2002

That’s the thing about the modern NFL and NBA. Because of all the 3’s and passing no lead is safe. You make a couple plays and the crowd gets in the game. Now you got role players shooting moving 3’s from half-court.
