Wdym laker fans won’t embrace it? We all know LeBron likely won’t win another ring with LA but he’s the best player on the team AT 37!

Kareem always says great things about LeBron, so this doesn’t make sense. A few weeks ago I watched Kareem on his channel saying he’s so proud of LeBron coming from his background and being such an impressive young man. He’s also been impressed by James standing up for social movements.

It’s not that he has no relationship with Kareem. It’s the dismissive way he said it

Not a true lakers fan but I feel like the fans gonna welcome the record breaking more if lakers does well

if they’re only around play-in area standing wise the fans not gonna appreciate lebron record breaking as much

You know not everyone has to be friends. Like this shouldn’t be a story at all. Lebron and Kareem should be friends just because they’re both basketball players?

Kareem didn’t get a head coaching job because his personality is not one that is conducive to managing people. Great player does not always equal great manager.

Everything SAS just said is on point, Kareem has all right to feel how he feel, but it is a not a fair assumption to say he dosen’t respect Lebron, IMO….i feel that since Kareem has won on every level, HS, College, pros, life….

He is not feeling the love that MJ and LJ get, this is so obvious, but any student of life or the civil rights movement understands and appreciates the contributions by him…..man, the same can be said about Magic, Kareem didn’t partake or understand where Magic was coming from…

We just have to appreciate Greatness and understand for obvious reasons why MJ, LJ, …..

And now Kareem would not see eye to eye.

Stop making this out to be more than it is…..these are all Alpha males that want to continuing winner….

Just that Kareem ain’t getting the love like MJ and LJ.

I feel his pain.. Most don’t even have Kareem in the top three….which is insulting.

the thing is lebron has always respected kareem so i think in his head it’s like enough is enough all those retired great always disrespect me jordan his idol and hero always compliment kobe even kd and westbrook once only says nice things about lebron when forced on interviews but i get kareem on the non recognition he gets .

When Stephen A Smith is not being a windbag for whatever topic, he is an elegant speaker and speaks of individuals with dignity…

Impressive statement on behalf of Kareem and LeBron…

Lebron is unique to his generation as Jordan and Kareem where, to theirs they all evolutionized their place in basketball lore for their perspective generation. Kareem not respecting Lebron’s beliefs show his absence in how the world is viewed from a changed world from when he grew up. that is called getting older. Kareem should be mentoring Lebron and helping him further the next generation of players. His criticism of Lebron’s views are based on what he wouldn’t do in todays society. Lebron has more choices and freedoms available to him he has said stupid things and also made wise decisions. I am proud of him and wish him more success.

This “beef” is about moral standards specially regarding race and politics vs money and fame. The standards that Kareem lived and HAD to live by are not the same as Lebron’s. Kareem is more on the revolutionary side and Lebron is more on the US’ liberal side. Maybe Lebron doesn’t understand that and is falling for this media fuelled beef.
