No one ever thinks that rookies get “injured” to improve their game ?

At this rate every #1 overall is going to miss their first season

I can’t understand a single word that Perkins says

do you think Chet will be fully healthy for resting one year long?

The international players are playing for their country, that was a weak point from perk lol

Man if Chet was going to get injured in this Pro Am, then he would have gone and got injured in the first game of the season 🤷🏽‍♂️

Bottom line he gotta play and these things happen… He redshirts season one and comes back, just like Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid and Blake Griffin…

What’s good about this, is the okc thunder will have another high pick in the draft next summer, plus Chet coming back next year! The thunder will be good again down the road!

Stephen A nailed it, pro players should play in the ProAm leagues, but it depends on the player, OKC shouldn’t have let him play as he’s too skinny, should have just told him to prioritise the gym and play ProAm league next summer. It was poor management from OKC.

He had the attitude of a ‘big kid on campus’ guy, got #2 paid, and now he has a year to develop the body of a real NBA big guy, to go with his already masterful game–no shame. It’s the way nature planned it, sho’ you right on this one, Steven A!

They should make “regular” or “average” nba players to showcase what kind of talent they really have. This would give these players the spotlight to bring attention and respect to the players that don’t get to show how good these guys are.

Perk And Stephen A like Fire 🔥 and Ice 🧊 idk they both have points and I like them🫡

This kind of discussion is just meaningless, pretty much like the career of these three stooges.

This might have been the most civil debate on ESPN ever.

Perk is the same guy calling for less games in the regular season now he wants more nba players playing in non NBA events

2K needs to do the same thing and stop giving us “AI” give me a NBA player or Legend if my team isnt full

    August 27, 2022 at 8:56 am

Chet needs to study Dirk, Bosh and KGs diet

  14. Ben Mercer

    August 27, 2022 at 9:10 am

Chet needs this year anyway to lift, eat and put on size. It’ll be better for him long term. Deadlifts and buffets for Chet.

Insider** chet was basically red shirted. They won’t tell you this but I will… He will spend his rookie season getting bigger. It was the perfect play for lebron to cause the injury so he won’t get backlashed like other folks.

    August 27, 2022 at 12:29 pm

See guys like chet was inevitable to get hurt due to his Slender Man frame.. the dude needs to put on more muscle.. PERIOD.. AND IF HE DOESN’T THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.. Penny Hardaway / Tracy McGrady bones 🤦

If Malachi Flynn or another Mid to low pick got injured y’all wouldnt care. It’s only because he’s a hyped pick that you care. I picked Chet and went all in on him in my Dynasty League. Obviously the bet was a bust but I think pro-ams need to continue they are important for those communities. Chet will be a decent big and will a good long term career just not immediately.

This is stupid. Basketball players have to play basketball. Injuries are a part of the game. You can get hurt moving your coffee table around. Hopefully Chet comes back next year and plays well.

These dudes begging the NBA to fund these private summer leagues when these players that play in the league make millions. You don’t always need the white daddy ..Do it yourself

its a meaningless game..and now their franchise star is out for the year.. for what? a youtube video? god.. I was excited to watch him this year

  21. Bara Dur Eye

    August 27, 2022 at 7:28 pm

I’d say it’s a lot safer playin in the pro-am, drew league etc. than pick up games

For those always talking about money, this argument will never go away but at some point they gotta play the game anyways. If they get a bad break then so be it but at least he signed his rookie deal. This isn’t like where Zion got hurt in college but look at it from a bigger perspective, Zion got hurt again and didn’t even play last season. If anything it’s better for the teams to expose injury prone guys if anything. It’s a business at the end of the day and you don’t want your team wasting money on guys that can’t play

    August 27, 2022 at 11:17 pm

The kid is a huge lower body injury risk. Did Chet built like the tinman from the wizard of oz play against guys as powerful and as athletic big men in the NBA in high school and college? Lol Chet was always a leg injury waiting to happen like Pozzingas

Man what a thin thin Fibula that is bending trying to body Lebron from getting to his spot. I am surprised it didn’t snap in 1/2

    August 28, 2022 at 12:07 am

If you’re a player that puts any effort into getting better, you have as good a chance getting hurt training as you do in the game. Players play. Players get hurt everyday, B….
