   I grew up watching Shaq in his prime between 97 (Orlando Magic) – 2002 (Lakers) and during that time, although he referred to him self as Superman, most of his fans called him Big Diesel or Man of Steel. If we’re going by the latter name “Man of Steel,” yes I get his gripe about feeling a way about Kenny referring to Dwight Howard as Superman and hyping that up, but to be honest no one calls Dwight Superman anymore. Shaq will always be The Big Diesel, Shaq Diesel or less commonly, The Man of Steel tho…

    But, remember they was calling Michael Jordan “Superman” in 1992 during the NBA Finals Game 6 against Portland when they was down and he helped them win. The phrase went “Superman is back in the building.”
