Most valuable player not most valuable team end of discussion.

I don’t usually side with shaq but he’s right on this occasion. If a player broke every single season record ( points, assists, rebounds etc )yet his team doesn’t make the playoffs, should he miss out on MVP? I think a a winning record is a valid point, but that’s when two players are having equal statistical seasons.

Stephs great and all but CP3 deserve that 3rd spot more than him atleast in this season…i mean Steph without Klay is barely in the playoffs but CP3 first time on a new team that wasnt even playoff contenders years before and take them to the 2nd seed in the west is fn insane..it mirrors what Nash did to the same team and ended up getting 2 MVPs

lebron and steph went against eachother in the play in game man. that play in game affecting the mvp argument means nothing.

First of all “no particular order” and they put Jokic last. Second of all if you’re gonna put three candidates up there make sure you don’t spend 3 minutes talking about one that just got into conversation. Who had the best year? Individual stats and where does their team currently stand…? It’s simple #JokicMVP

Shaq is saying the best player can sometimes be on a team with less wins. The best player isn’t always on the team with the most wins

I do not Shaq’s logic here… Steph is my fav player. But Jokic deserves MVP cause hes teams record. Just how it goes…

Kenny said it best MVP doesnt mean best player. Steph was the best player but Jokic is MVP.

Curry is the MVP because without him the Warriors will be playing in the G league. unlike the other teams being carried by multiple allstars.

I see what Shaq is trying to articulate. I lowkey agree with him too. If I’m putting up 20 & 10 on a losing team where I’m easily the best player and I’m seeing double teams every night and you’re putting up 20/10 on a winning team and you don’t see double teams as often cause the pieces around you are way better than the ones on my team then who really is more valuable to their team cause if my team loses me they’re in the lottery but if your team loses you, they’re still a playoff team. Then really who’s more valuable than the other? The all star on the team with no help or the all star on the team with other all stars?

Much easier to put up 20/10 when you are the only good player on your team and you can shoot 30 times a game if you want.
But to our case: Jokic is better than Curry in ALL advanced stats. Denver would not make the playoff without Jokic, with him they are the 3rd seed in the West.

Steph has the greatest defensive player ever and best screen setter of all time as a sidekick so they should be an easy top 4 team.

Steph rather be loyal then get himself a ring elsewhere, sometimes it’s better to do the smart thing then the right thing.

The award should be called best player in the best team we think. It’s not MVP award.
