LA Clippers big man Montrezl Harrell joins Rachel Nichols, Dave McMenamin and Richard Jefferson to discuss the NBA banning “ninja-style headbands” for the 2019-20 season. Harrell then (1:40) plays “What Were You Thinking?”, recapping the time he wouldn’t take the ball from a ref at the free-throw line, dunking on James Michael McAdoo, and missing a windmill dunk while at Louisville.

It’s called cultural appropriation. I’m with the NBA it’s not appropriate for players to wear “ninja” headbands.

This is pure stupidity, let the players wear whatever they want! What the NBA needs to do is fix their Refs.

I remember when players could wear armbands and those also couldn’t be worn then headbands kinda went away after a while tho never banned. Then these came and the nba didn’t do anything about them. I’m sure it’s a Nike thing that’s why

nah but for real if they gonna ban the ninja headbands for that reason then they should ban dreads and long hair lol

I think they are doing a blanket ban on the style so they don’t have ref’s out there with rules measuring how much of the band is hanging. The style that Harrell wore was outrageous, and too long. The rest shown? No issue.
