Raptors’ best shot to win a title is this postseason – Ryen Russillo | SC with SVP

Published

on

Ryen Russillo joins Scott Van Pelt to express his thoughts on the four remaining teams in the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Russillo says the Toronto Raptors getting Kawhi Leonard this season may be there only shot at winning a championship because many believe Kawhi will leave in free agency. Russillo also gives the edge to the Raptors over the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the playoffs. Russillo adds that it is too early to tell on how he feels about who will come away the victor in the Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks series.

Ha ha all these pundits are saying Kawhi is leaving. Based on what? He seems happy, healthy and appreciative of how the Raptor organization has treated him. I say he keeps the extra $50 million and stays with the Raptors.

I feel there is a good chance he leaves. I also believe these media fucks have no God damn clue what they’re saying. They have no idea what he will do. Like 0 out of a 100.

Its ESPN that is creating the narrative that Kawhi is leaving because they are really scared shitless that he will stay.

Bucks gonna crush the Celtics…..Raptors v Sixers is a tossup. Embid v Kawhi whoevers better will win the series. Sure Embid is a more dominant offensive player and a better rebounder and rim protector but Kawhi has owned Ben Simmons and can wreak havok on the perimeter shooting of a Sixer team that ain’t that good from the three point line.

    • Matt Mc

      April 24, 2019 at 7:01 am

I’m a sixers fan, but i think the raptors are a tough matchup. Gasol is one of the few bigs who can contain embiid, and the raptors are just a great defensive team overall and have better depth than philly. For the sixers to win (really simply) embiid has to roughly equal kawhi and each game the sixers win the 2nd best player on the court has to be a sixer instead of siakam. Gonna be tough

    • Jeff Berg

      April 24, 2019 at 7:11 am

+Matt Mc Well here’s to hoping that both teams are healthy and that it’s the battle royale that the talent suggests it should be.

    • Jeff Berg

      April 24, 2019 at 7:12 am

Also here’s to hoping your players keep their tempers under control and that chippiness and techs don’t determine the result. In case you didn’t catch it…We the North still ain’t fully forgiven y’all for the very dark road you took the NHL down all those years ago…:-)

He’s right, unfortunately no one is beating Milwaukee this year. Maybe Leonard can sign with the Bucks in free agency if he wants a ring.

You’re telling me that a team whose newly acquired best player (on an expiring deal) have their best chance at winning THIS year? HOT TAKE!!! Where do you guys even come up with these crazy ideas? ??? Tomorrow’s top story: Giannis Needs to Play Well for Bucks to Win the Championship. Just kidding, the top story is probably something about Lebron’s latest fart. Can’t miss that important coverage.

Or maybe it’s because everyone close to the situation say he’s leaving, y’all blame everything on the media

      +Connor
Everyone close to the situation? Kawhi never used to talk to media until he came to Toronto. Now all of a sudden he’s telling other people his business about not wanting to stay? Stay off the weed.

In kawhi’s first year? And gsw dynasty are still at it? Pssshh they got space to fit in a second option for the coming season

  17. Doug Guerra

    April 24, 2019 at 8:55 am

As a Raptors fan, the Celtics and Kyrie concern me a bit more than the Bucks. I’m glad they’re facing each other in this second round. As for Kawhi, the best move for him to make will obviously be to stay in Toronto. They beat GS in all 3 matches this year, and they don’t depend solely on him to win. Doesn’t matter what people around the league think. It’s what Kawhi thinks that matters in the end.

    • Ulysses King

      April 24, 2019 at 9:18 am

      Doug Guerra lmao he’s leaving

    • Doug Guerra

      April 24, 2019 at 9:38 am

+Ulysses King you say that because media keeps repeating the notion. You’re now programmed to assume he’s leaving. Have you actually seen or heard Kawhi indicate that he’s not happy in Toronto and wants to leave? Kawhi’s smart. He keeps leverage for himself by saying nothing. He just may end up staying put because the Raptors are spending money to win, they got a great medical staff working on his body, there’s harmony on the team, he’s the go to guy, yet the spotlight’s not always on him. Makes more sense for him to stay.

    • Ulysses King

      April 24, 2019 at 9:49 am

Doug Guerra he been wanting to get to LA media doesn’t have to say nothing it wasn’t like he picked the raptors he was traded there

    • SLEdwards

      April 24, 2019 at 10:43 am

Just my 2 cents, but wasn’t PG “guaranteed” to go back home to play in LA? How’d that end up again? ?

    • Spoonzaza

  23. Chris Baelenge

    April 24, 2019 at 12:15 pm

I got Boston in 6 against Milwaukee and Raptors in 5 or 6 against 76Ers, Embiid will be a problem but if we stop Ben Simmons which will most likely if Kawhi guards Simmons, Green guards Butler and Kyle on Redick, it will shut them down

  24. Exotic Loob

No you are not left with the 4 teams in the east you thought you had when the season started. Go back to October no one had Milwaukee ahead of the other 3 or Indy other than bucks fans. Dont lie. Im not a bucks fan im a Raps fan im just keepin it real cuz these analyst/broadcasters talk shit all the time
