D’Angelo Russell recorded 19 PTS, 3 REB and 5 AST for the Timberwolves, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 15 PTS, 7 REB and 4 AST in the victory. Brandon Ingram tallied 14 PTS and 3 AST for the Pelicans in the losing effort. The Timberwolves improve to 1-0 in the preseason, while the Pelicans fall to 0-1.
