@Brian Johnson This season the bulls lost to the magic who ended up getting swept by the rockets

    • Kenneth Cline

      May 20, 2020 at 10:33 pm

@Brian Johnson Rockets were 5-1 during the first three-peat years. MJ said they had no answer for Hakeem. Plus, the Rockets were content with allowing Jordan to score 30 although they did have the best defensive center in Hakeem. So while the series would’ve gone seven, the Bulls had trouble with Hakeem.

I don’t know but the ilegal defense rule was pretty inconsistent rule. Sometimes they call it. It’s just made the 1v1 players take advantage of their isolation game and nobody could stop them.

    • Arson Hakobyan

      June 2, 2020 at 10:13 pm

There was no way to call it nearly every time, or even half the time, which is why it’s to a certain extent a myth that there was no zone defense in the 90s. I did like that rule however for the NBA, and it did at least prevent teams from being blatant about it.

Looks like the rockets got away with an over and back violation right before the shot by Elie at the end. Gordy went frontcourt and then came back to get the pass from Kenny Smith.

    • Terri Reed

The 90’s Western Conference was stronger than the current Western Conference. The strength of the modern Western Conference is overstated. They are regular season strong and that’s it. The 7 different Western Conference teams made the NBA Finals during the 90’s.

  62. JaronTevesOfficial

    June 2, 2020 at 9:43 am

Why are they trapping people when they are in a tied game?
They just need to play an honest Man-to-Man defense the rest of the way, and maybe they would have advanced to NBA Finals!

    • Arson Hakobyan

      June 16, 2020 at 4:33 am

For actually a smart team, although not stellar defensively, that was a low IQ move. Kind of like Stockton going for 3 vs Bulls, w/ his team down only 1.

“I think we can do it again”
Very underrated post game statement by Hakeem.
He knew he had to whoop Robinson’s and Shaq’s ass to get it done at that point.
And he knew that’s just what he was gonna do.
    Gangsta.

23:20 (rant on “3 pt not being in evidence” in this game and then Billy Walton saying “Houston’s 3 pt% being basically the only difference in this dead even series.”
Talk about a convo going from not aging well at all to aging EXACTLY right in seconds. … Funny.
