Charlotte, for real?! They are the Sacramento’s of the East! They can’t even hire a Head Coach without Him saying, on second thought, no thanks. Then they have to go hire a Coach that once let go?! The Hawks only marginally got better because as long as Trey on the floor teams will hunt him on the Offensive side of the ball and will always be a D liability, especially come Playoff time, if they make it in.

shut up about Charlotte, they have a future star in LaMelo

The question was “dark horse” which means someone who has a chance but probably won’t win . Got to remember Phoenix missed the playoffs the year before making the finals with a very similar roster of improving young players. Just saying the Charlotte thing is conceivable especially if they add someone. Probably not going to happen but them making round 2 or the ECF would not shock me.

      June 30, 2022 at 3:58 pm

@Dez Chi boi Totally forgot about the Bulls…my apologies…I agree with you…goes to show my point…how does this move make the Hawks any better?

    • Julio Maldonado

      June 30, 2022 at 4:00 pm

@Dez Chi boi Also after hearing KD might not be in BK…Bulls could slide into 3rd with 76ers at 4th…ATL still a 6th to 7th best in the East at best right?

    • Dez Chi boi

      June 30, 2022 at 9:22 pm

@Julio Maldonado you forgot about Boston the east is the deeper conference now, also Charlotte I believe will be on the hawks level hovering around 7 or 8

      June 30, 2022 at 9:39 pm

@Dez Chi boi One last try…1. Bucks 2. Heat 3. Boston 4. Bulls 5. 76ers 6. Raptors 7. Hawks 8. Cavs? If Nets trade out Durant to Suns and Kyrie goes to Lakers BK is lottery bound…

After getting swept, Brooklyn no longer deserve to be a favorite i might consider them a dark horse (with kyrie)

Good deal for both. The hawks were so awful defensively this definitely helps.

ATLANTA and CLEVELAND are going to break a lot of people’s Eastern Conference brackets next season. Don’t be surprised if THEY MEET IN THE CONFERENCE FINALS.

It all looks good on Paper. But, again, you have to ask The Question: Why did San Antonio REALLY trade Dejounte Murray? Pop does not seem like a Coach that can stomach “ Tanking “. Plus, Tanking does not guarantee The #1 Pick. I think Dejounte and Trae together, is going to FAIL. I say that because, Dejounte is NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY GOING FROM BEING AN ALL-STAR, TO BECOMING A SECOND FIDDLE TO TRAE YOUNG! Stay Tuned…

Orlando and Detroit will be the biggest dark horse teams going into next season. Not sold on the Hawks yet. they should have been more patient. They could have had KD but instead have Dejounte Murray.
