I almost forgot how stacked Portland was at this time! But Shaq and Kobe were just too strong.

Absolutely insane there was no foul called at 21:37! And that is why coaches challenges exist these days.

How old are you? Lol this was a different era man. Hardly ever saw the bail out fouls that we get regularly today.

I wonder how differently the rest of the Kobe/Shaq era in L.A. would’ve gone if they didn’t make the big comeback in the 4th and lose this series after blowing a 3-1 lead since then still hadn’t broken thru or won anything yet at this point, it would’ve been real interesting to see how they would’ve responded mentally.

This was back when 15 points in the fourth quarter was a lot more difficult to overcome.

Remember looking at this like “C’MON PIPPEN DO SOMETHING” especially thinking about recent exchanges, you had a good team, they should have beat the Lakers, all that noise he talking, c’mon. I was a Kobe-hater back then too, before I started liking and appreciating him. Also, Walton trashing Brian Grant is hilarious.

IMO ‘81 to ‘05 was the best quarter century of NBA basketball. The start and the end always up for debate , but right around there

Moments like @5:36 is always refreshing to see, especially in valuable games like this where both the stakes and emotions are high.

One of the biggest choke jobs not only in NBA History, but in professional sports history. Blazers literally have never been the same since.

Fun to watch a few legends at their best, and great nostalgia. Rip Kobe, one of the best to ever do it…Bill Walton one of the best players and color guys ever. I miss hearing Marv Albert do games too.

All that being said… Anyone who says THIS is so much better than today’s game simply grew up and doesn’t watch as much as they used to, OR they have other hate four today’s players for “some” reason. All I saw here was posting up, slow offense, ticky tack fouls (are you kidding me on some of the calls Shaq got???) and bricks from 12 feet. There is absolutely nothing better about this game than today’s game. NOTHING.

Lakers don’t comeback from this history would look alot different today wonder if the Trail Blazers would’ve won it all in 2000 had they gotten by the Lakers and not blown that 4th quarter lead.
