Lakers are still popular, but Clippers are clearly ‘the class’ of L.A. – Stephen A. | First Take

Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman assess the state of the Los Angeles Lakers and compare them to the playoff-bound Los Angeles Clippers. Max says the Lakers haven’t lost their stature despite all the dysfunction and Magic Johnson’s sudden resignation, but Stephen A. says the Lakers can’t compete with the Clippers aside from their popularity.

Number one Clippers number to Sacramento number three the Lakers. This is the process. LeBron James can’t change it. That’s why he’s all in the news

Nobody cares about Magic or the Lakers, the media is the one pushing it on everyone. How about report on the retirement of two all time Greats both went for 30, or report on Paul George’s clutch game winner vs the rockets

Do any black folks, (or anybody who grew up around hip hop or tge Urban environment) ever wonder if Stephen A Smith I overtly adds an “er” to the “n” word? Think about it. Most words or names that end with an “a”, he adds an “er” to it. {Palinker, Zaza Pachulier, etc.)}. So maybe in his younger days, he be accidently adds an “er” to ‘nigga’. Just wondering.

The WCF and ECF could go to an epic 7 games, triple OT, and the Lakers will still be the topic the next morning.

The Clippers have accomplished at LEAST being a NBA franchise vs being an absolute joke, which in fairness took a LOT, a lot…..

And it’ll take a hell of a lot for the ‘Lakers’ to not be ‘da Lakers…..

Great organizations with beloved ‘history’ can ALWAYS regain glory

OU ? came back from the dead
‘Bama ? currently fed off the Bear Bryant glory days

The Celtics were dead, then came the Big 3 and back came Boston

Notre Dame & USC can die n revive during any decade

KU/NC ? anytime is either blah or wow

John Travolta, Robert Downey Jr., Johnny Dep came and went and came back

The Knicks & Bulls are still riding ghost of the past

Point being ONE good run and the L.A. river is Purp n Gold….same with the Dodgers, let ’em actually WIN a World Series or two within any 10 year period…

It’d take the Angels winning I don’t know how many over a 20 year period before you’d see red vs blue in LA but whatever THAT number is, is about what the Clippers would have to do to come close to eclipsing the Lake Show….

No offense to what the Warriors are doing in the Bay…but can you IMAGINE what ‘that’ would be in NYC, L.A. even Chi….places with history can revive it quickly…

Think what would happen IF Nebraska ? or UCLA ? ever got ‘back’?

This bias media Lakers own LA the fans of 1980 lakers are dying the kobe fan era can just tell story. Clippers eldon brand era was over shadowed by kobe. I hate kobe when he was playing i respect him as a person and his achievements. What bias media is not reporting the whole LA county school basketball gym was being renovated spaonsored by Steve Ballmer can Flakers owner do that? They been sucking the money of LA flakers fan but giving back to community zero bwahahahaha
