Kendrick Perkins retracts his Lonzo Ball take: He’s not a bust, he’s a special talent | The Jump

Published

on

Rachel Nichols, Chauncey Billups and Kendrick Perkins head to “Crunch Time,” discussing Perk’s son’s nickname “Stone,” and Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving saying he hopes to play next week. They then (1:29) play “Retweet or Delete,” commenting on Perk’s tweets that involve Stephen Curry, Trae Young, Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown, and New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball (whom Perk had previously called a “bust”).

Lonzo has great court awareness. He is still a bit hesitant. He needs to play like he can, relax and pass the ball and shoot

The difference is that Steph Curry is easier to play with. His off ball game just makes him so difficult and so dynamic that is something that Trey Young can never even compare to. His off ball game is the quietest part and yet the most deadliest part of his game. It is something that you don’t see in the box score

I used to hate Chauncey back in the day because he ripped the heart out of my teams so many times but he’s changed my mind since. He’s a very underrated analyst and seems like a chill, cool dude.

I honestly think perk jumped the gun when he called lonzo a bust. Dude is in his early 20s and just needed time to develop. All players develop at a different pace and lonzo has so many good qualities. He’s no where near his ceiling as to how good he can actually be.
