The Laker’s woes began when their relationship with Jerry West went south. The Laker front office chose Phil over Jerry and the rest is history. Thank you Jerry for everything.

If you died tonight, do you know where you will end up? This is the most important question you will ever ask yourself. The way to find out is if you have obeyed God’s Law, The 10 Commandments. You Shall Not Take the Name of the Lord in Vain. Have you ever used God’s name in place of a bad word? You Shall Not Murder. God tells us if we get angry without cause or hate someone, we are guilty. You Shall Not Commit Adultery. Jesus tells us, whoever looks at anyone to lust after them has already committed adultery with them in their heart. Have you ever looked with lust? You Shall Not Steal. Have you ever taken something that did not belong to you no matter the value? You Shall Not Bear False Witness. Have you ever told a lie, even just one little “white lie?” We can violate God’s Law by attitude or intent. This is just half of The 10 Commandments. We know we will ALL be found guilty and since God is a righteous Judge, He will have to punish us for breaking His Law. That punishment is eternal conscious torment in a place called hell. But God loves us so much that He provided a way to be forgiven for breaking His Law. Jesus Christ lived the only perfect life ever and took our punishment for our sin when He died on the cross. All we have to do is turn from our sins and receive Jesus Christ into our heart and we will have eternal life. This is a FREE gift from God. Once we take our last breath, our eternity is sealed . . . forever.

I did not get to see Mr West in his prime. But he was on a TV show explaining the game to me and my brother on a TV show on basketball. And he was one of the best.

Multiple shows and documentaries about the Lakers and everyone who had portrayed Jerry projected the same character just different actors. He was genuine and necessary a reason GOD created basketball. As a fan of the game and on the outside looking in he is a reason why I respect the game. Not a logo….. A SYMBOL. Rest in Pleasure Mr. West💎✨

LA native. Born 1958. Every boy who loves sports has his first “hero”. Jerry West was mine. Before ESPN, cable televised home games, there my little transistor radio, Chick Hearn and a guy named “Jerry West” who, as far as I could tell, never missed a shot!

Youthful idolatory aside, I was able to see Jerry West play in person about six times between 1970-1973 against the likes of Walt Frazier, young Kareem, Earl “the Pearl” Monroe. Anyone who does not understand that Jerry West-with the modern training techniques, first class travel, the three point line, etc.-would be a superstar in today’s NBA doesn’t understand the game. Great shooter. Great passer. Good on the boards. Great on defense. And, like MJ and Bird, he wanted/demanded the ball when the game was on the line. “Mr. Clutch” was not a nickname, it was a fact.

RIP to one of a kind!

Jerry West was like 86 yrs old. He is a legend in so many ways. I can’t help but be reminded by this that Kobe Bryant is also dead. The man who drafted him as a kid lived longer. Life is crazy and unpredictable. Live your best one!

Jerry West, the legend, had to take time out this past year to respond to that big-mouthed Mr. Nothing, JJ Reddick, when Reddick called the Jerry West-era players “a bunch of plumbers and part-time firemen”. JJ Reddick is the hole itself.

Jerry west is the True King of LA. He saw that city grow from the ground up, He was part of the Lakers that changed LA to Blue and White city, to a purple and gold. He saw the rise Of The Beach Boys to Rap music in LA.

All of the greatness as a player and an executive combined…..The Logo was the greatest basketball mind of all time. He had the game figured out from the 60’s to the very end.

Nobody accomplished more in the nba than west. He was a great player. But he was probably an even better GM and dynasty builder.

Unlike the other retired players who talked trash and compared with their era…This guy always admired the present and new talent..That’s admiration and respect!

Man seeing all these NBA figures/personalities pass starts making think about who’s next. I know you shouldn’t think like that but its inevitable. In fact when Walton passed, I genuinely thought about Jerry West and if we may lose him soon too, Only to see that it actually happened today…And then we have some older heads like Oscar Robertson, Kareem, and Dr. J who are 80 or are about to turn 80 as well. I really dont wanna lose Dr. J🥺🥺

Aside from being one of the best players in NBA history, I also remember how he created the Lakers dynasty of the early 2000s. By bringing Shaq, Kobe, and Phil Jackson.

JEROME ALAN “Jerry” WEST: (May 28th, 1938 – June 12th, 2024). Jerry was also known as “The Logo” and “Mr. Clutch” – This is indeed, a tremendous loss. He will never, ever be forgotten, PERIOD!!! IRREPLACEABLE!!!

One of basketball’s smartest minds. Saying that it’s a massive loss for the NBA is a massive understatement.
