Jorge Sedano breaks down whether LeBron James regrets signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, and talks about the team’s “swing for the fences” approach in free agency. Sedano, Michael Wilbon and Marc J. Spears then (2:25) discuss whether this is a sound strategy in 2019, when they will compete with the LA Clippers and others for the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Kemba Walker, Tobias Harris, D’Angelo Russell, Marc Gasol, Kristaps Porzingis, Khris Middleton, DeMarcus Cousins, Nikola Vucevic and more. (4:45) Spears also says that his sources tell him there is “no way” the Lakers will swing a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis.

They had a process, they had the same blueprint as the Warriors, all homegrown young talent and the Lakers could have had a team of Russell, Tatum, Ingram, Kuzma, Randle and possibly add Paul George and Boogie Cousins through free agency and they mortgaged their future for an old king.

Given that Davis has said he wants to play with the Lakers and his contract partner, New Orleans, has said they won’t trade to the Lakers, why should not Davis note the bad faith they are acting with and just tell every other teams he’s just a rental and whatever they trade for him is just a flat loss after a single year.

Why should not Davis punish the Pelicans for meanly thwarting his personal preferences. If they can can nasty, why should not he destroy the return they get for fucking him over.

These goddamn billionaires. The players aren’t people to them, just property and goddamn them for treating them like chattel rather than human beings.

Bigger question: Why do the players let the owners steal over half the income earned only by the players’ play. In just four years, NBA player can all be free of any contractual relationship with the goddamn plutocratic owners and those same goddamn plutocrats would be happy to rent their empty stadiums to the players after the players and the TV money left.

Why are the owners involved at all anymore. The players aren’t slaves. They are not the property of the owners. The are contract partners getting screwed by billionaires. The value and the competence in the league is has nothing to do with the owners. Fuck the New Orleans owner. Fuck Jim Dolan. Fuck that guy in Phoenix. Fuck them all.

Get off the plantation NBA players. You can double your pay in just four years and cut out parasites.

AD coming to Lakers. Jus need to chill out one more season or force trade for one year with any team. Sign new deal with LA. One year out still Lakers need more pieces n AD trade for several players is bad deal.

There is a six nine baller coming to the draft that didnt go to college that will be a laker that passed on Syracuse. No one talking about him. Ball trade to Knicks for picks n Kyrie back with Lakers with AD year later.

Wtf kinda mentality is that from rich Paul? Literally sounded to me like “if we go to Philly and we suck then we will feel like we should’ve stayed or gone elsewhere. Same for Cleveland. So because of how god awful the lakers were before LeBron there’s more of an excuse to suck and not live up to expectation? Sounds soft to me

And the guy who could fix this, who once was the Lakers GM, now works for the Clippers, who are overachieving. The Buss children are in over their heads, it’s no surprise that both Jim and Jeanie have failed. There’s no quick fix in the NBA, if it was that easy, more teams would do it. LeBron did NOT win a championship in his first Heat season, and look who he had then, Bosh and Wade. And now, for the first time in his remarkable (but not GOAT) career, he’s showing signs of aging. When you injure a soft tissue area like the groin, it will never be the same again. He no longer plays any defense, it’s embarrassing. MJ and Kobe never did that. And why is Kobe not in the GOAT discussion?

    Quotes from Stephen A….
Stephen A – KD will drop 40 on LA
    Stephen A – Klay , Durant , Beal , AD , Kawhi , Kyrie , Conley , Melo , Kenna will join the Lakers
Stephen A – Lakers will go to WCF
    Stephen A – Porzingis is a bust
Stephen A – Boston will make it to ECF
    …….
Max – (on porzingis trade) you just won a million dollar jackpot , and you trade it for lottery tickets????? What?? That’s Utter Nonsense
    Stephen A – blasphemous

    Fuck the fan base.
How about finally change the colors or styles of those UGLY yellow and purple jerseys. Then acquire someone who actually looks good in the new gear. Those are simple steps. EVERYBODY around the league did these steps and flourished from there.
