      @Knoda 82
      21.1 minutes
      6.0 points
      57.1 fg%
      7.3 rebounds

@Kung pao children Draymond is the one that does all the little things Looney is expendable don’t get me wrong he’s decent but u putting him out to be like a starter or something he’s just a decent role player

    • Kung pao children

      May 20, 2022 at 11:36 pm

@Knoda he just had his most points 21 with 13 boards. Doing all the little things they also went 52-34 with draymond on the bench with looney in. I knew what I was talking about.

I think PP’s +/- only dropped because he had to sub back in due to Stauskas’ injury. Otherwise, he would have tied Perk’s record.

The phrase “Perk went off” in a discussion about Perkins & Pritchard having the greatest +- in the storied history of the Celtics perfectly captures how sports media sometimes goes overboard with advanced stats.

    • American Homeowner With a JOB

      May 20, 2022 at 4:23 pm

      @Will James Jr.

      Lol yup

    • Kai Berment

      May 20, 2022 at 4:57 pm

@Will James Jr. . ESPN does that all the time I know what you mean. But ur reaching with this one. Draymond be having great games putting up triple singles in 35 mins. Plus minus is the only thing that tracts his impact w/o watching the game. The joke just don’t apply to this one G. Plus minus used like this is pretty straight forward.

    • Ryun Yusef

      May 20, 2022 at 5:06 pm

      there’s nothing advanced about +/-

    • Will James Jr.

      May 20, 2022 at 8:10 pm

@Kai Berment nah…I get what you’re saying.. but my point is that plus minus in this Celtics example may not necessarily be an indicator of Perkins’ or Pritchard’s impact on the game. The Draymond example is a good one.. but your point falls completely flat when you say that “plus minus is the only thing that tracts (Draymond’s) impact other than watching.

Plus/minus as a stat only tells you how many net points the team up or down while the player was on the floor. It informs NOTHING about player impact on its own.

By that logic, then Pritchard would have had the biggest impact on the game; not Tatum, Smart, Udoka or a drought by the Heat.. and everyone knows thats not true.
If plus minus was the only way to tract impact, then you’re saying Perk was the biggest impact player over Rondo, KG, Pierce or Allen… lol.
This again brings me back to my entire point; that sometimes stats like plus minus are completely overblown, misused and misinterpreted to imply a player’s impact.
Your point that it’s the only way to prove impact actually proves my point.

If Boston Win this year it will be the hardest earn NBA championship. remember that Boston started the season 11th seed in the East.
    1. Swept BKN-Pick by analyst to win it all this season.
    2. Beat the defending champ BUCKS.
    3. Beat the number 1 team in the East MIAMI
    4. Beat the GSW former championship team 3x
    ☘️

    • G tiello

      May 21, 2022 at 4:16 am

      1) that was Brooklyn with James Harden + Joe Harris. Whether analysts predict a team to win at the start of the season doesn’t factor into how strong of a team they actually were come playoff time.
      2. Beat the defending Champions without their 2nd best player.
      3. They haven’t beat the Kyle Lowry less Miami Heat yet.
      4. Don’t get me started on this series if the Warriors had James Wiseman 😂.

Celtics are great and they deserve a lot of credit if they win. But it’s not as impressive as you’re making it out to be considering most analysts (they matter now) picked them to win at the start of the playoffs.

There’s a YouTuber who did a historical analysis of NBA champs and the Celtics are projected to win this year. They have the team performance historically to do it.

The center he played against was Carlos Arroyo who wasn’t going to get any points anyways and D Wade scored 29. So not sure who he applied that great defense to
