I like Kyrie Irving, but he could probably shoot less – Chiney Ogwumike | The Jump

Published

on

Amin Elhassan, Ramona Shelburne, Zach Lowe and Chiney Ogwumike head to “Crunch Time,” talking about D’Angelo Russell’s injury that will keep him out of more Golden State Warriors games, the Washington Wizards being first in the NBA in offensive efficiency, and the Charlotte Hornets being a surprising 6-7 thanks to performances from the likes of Devonte’ Graham. They then (2:18) discuss Kyrie Irving being out for the Brooklyn Nets, and what it means for the team.

Lol PROBABLY ? How about he BETTER shoot less ? What a SHOT CHUCKING, LEADERLESS, CANCER of a player. THIS is why he never should’ve left LeBron, ESPECIALLY with the way he and the Lakers are playing RIGHT NOW. TERRIBLE move, Kyrie

the problem is kyrie ..cursed …where ever he goes never cant win title since he dumped The King Of NBA…In James 4:6 it says..

why is everyone so defensive when it comes to Kyrie criticism?
you all knew that he was gonna be watched closely after that disaster in Boston. He’s got a disruptive personality, that kind of thing will follow you when it impacts the team the way it did in Boston, and now in NJ. So far, he’s made both teams worse, and not better. He will be under a microscope for his entire Nets stint.

Because holding him to the standard of championship or bust is a ridiculously high bar that no other player besides Lebron is held to or deserves to be. Team chemistry issues had nothing to do with personality in Boston, the team was overloaded with talent with never enough shots to go around to keep everyone happy. It doesn’t make sense to trade for a shoot first point guard superstar only to want him to change into a pass first role player. Kyrie has already proven himself as a dominant and clutch player scoring so much alongside Lebron. The Celtics overachieved the year before getting to the ECF only because the eastern conference was so weak. Forcing Gordon Hayward into the lineup when playing bad after returning from injury didn’t help either. Kyrie’s numbers were fine, it was the young supporting cast whose efficiency dropped adjusting to the new playstyle. Probably didn’t help Brad Stevens has never coached a star player either to integrate an isolation style player (which many superstars are, not just Kyrie) with that of a college style offense of equal opportunity ball movement.

I told y’all Kyrie a ball hog, better the Nets than the Celtics with a young core.

A ballhog that averages 7 assists and constantly passes the ball???????

    • VoV Sports

      November 19, 2019 at 7:26 am

@Troll King 7 assists as a point guard and primary ball handler?

That’s as much as Kawhi a SF, not a very good playmaker.

      Less than Harden, a SG.

Less than Russ for the past 3 years.

      Less than LeBron.

I think I’ve made my point.

    • Troll King

      November 19, 2019 at 7:34 am

@VoV Sports You haven’t, actually. All the players you mentioned, besides Kawhi, hold the ball more than Kyrie and are less efficient (eccept for Lebron).
My point is that Kyrie does move the ball quit a bit more than those other superstars, but he has a huge green light to shoot and create, especially since he has such a high shooting percentage.
