If your goal for this season is to win a championship but got a first round playoff exit.

    THAT’S A FAILURE.

Missing 13 freethrows at elimination games in this the stage of your career

    THAT’S a FAILURE.

I agree with everyone. Ernie, Charles, and Kenny were talking about life. Shaq was also right on the basketball side. 1 seed fails when they lose to 8. NBA world CRUSHED Dirk in 2007 when that happened.

Idk I feel like they’re changing the question from “do you see this season as a failure?” To “do you feel like a failure?” Shaq made a point differentiating Giannis’s performance and the team’s, and we’re talking about a team game. We’re also talking about sports and not awards. Awards can be subjective: what you thought was most entertaining, who was more valuable to their team, etc, the mvp isn’t always the one with the best stats or percentages because it’s not black and white. But seasons and championships are played to win, if you don’t win, you lose. If you didn’t meet your goal, you failed — that doesn’t mean it was a waste or that you’re a failure.

In sports you can argue about injuries and what could’ve been and asterisks and penalties, but you still get a result at the end.

They mentioned Lebron’s Championship losses. There were multiple times in those losses where he was flat out, undeniably the mvp of the series, but he didn’t get that award because it’s not really “most valuable player” but “most valuable player (on the winning team)”. And it’s like that because it doesn’t ‘feel’ right to disregard the winning team like that, or make the winner on the losing team feel like he got a consolation prize, because he lost. And if they hadn’t failed it wouldn’t feel that way.

Chuck on teachers: we all should not be “Old School Teachers”…. but be “New School Teachers”….. for a New World Order for the benefit of humanity

It’s incredible seeing how much the media wants Giannis to have this negative mindset. Really shows ya what the media WhTs ya to think and not to think

I’m with Shaq. As a player, he’s not a failure, but if your goal as a team is to win a championship and you don’t, then you failed. There is a difference. If you don’t accomplish your goal, then learn from that failure and do better the next season.

What barkley said is amazing he is technically one of the most successful people in civilization beause only 1 to 2% of people make the money he has made. Wish these athletes today realize that

It’s a failure because they were the #1 team and they got taken out in the first round. It’s pretty obvious, if they made a good run & lost then that would be a different story. Y’all failed now move onto the next year.

Today’s society is weak … Listen any season you spend millions to try to and win a championship and fail it’s a failure. Excuses is all i hear.

Always changing the goal post for certain players is ridiculous

I feel like MJ would say all the other years were failures, and everyone has their own mindset. I’m glad he provided a deep and thoughtful response regardless of how anyone feels, and that’s respect. If only everyone could elucidate like this!

If you can accept success then you should be able to accept failure point blank ppl hate words that take value from them but you not a failure as a player but your team failed to succeed vs 8th seed Grade F brother

I love Giannis and I love the answer especially how he gives examples outside of ports but for the specific season he is wrong. By definition this season by the Milwaukee Bucks was a complete failure. I understand he dealt with an injury and anything can happen including Jimmy Butler playing basketball like he was prime Michael Jordan in the playoffs but regardless going into the playoff the bucks were the betting favorites, for the first seed in the entire league to get knocked out as early as they did by an 8th seed is absolutely a failure.

When it come to a achievement of the single season, it was absolutely failure! But It doesn’t mean this team is fail!

Shaq always talking about his military background but I don’t see any records of him serving. Stolen valor imo.

THIS SEASON IS A FAILURE NOT FOR GA BUT FOR THE TEAM THEY HAD A 12 PT LEAD IN GAME 4 AND BAD DECISIONS IN GAME 5 LAST SEC PLAY. WHY WAS GA NOT ASSIGNED TO GUARD JB WHEN HE WAS HOT NOT FOR THE WHOLE GAME BUT EVEN IN SPURTS

failure is such a strong word, did the Bucks have a failure season, that would be ridiculous to say, they won 58 games and were the number one seed. but did they fail their goal this season? most definitely.

    April 29, 2023 at 12:02 am

If you’re the number 1 overall seed and get gentleman’s swept in the first round, it’s a failure. I don’t care what bs answer Giannis tried to give. And yes, I bet MJ would count those other 9 years as a failure.
