Carlisle has to be one of the best offensive minds in the NBA. The schemes, sets, execution are amazing. As a Knicks fan I hate that we cant defend it but have to respect it.

The Knicks problems in these first two games are a mix of overconfidence, sloppy execution, and burnout disguised as bravado. They got drunk on their own hype. Beating the Celtics had them puffed up like they already made the Finals. The Pacers are younger, faster, more disciplined, and coached by a veteran like Rick Carlisle who knows how to adjust on the fly.
Karl-Anthony Towns taunting tapping the player on the pacers bench like he’s MJ in ’96 after hitting a shot? That’s that immature energy Celebrating a moment like it’s a finale, when you’re getting worked the rest of the night. That same mentality has crept into the Knicks acting like the job is done after a good quarter or run. Let’s be real Jalen Brunson has been carrying this team on his back for weeks. The man has been putting up heroic numbers, but the toll is showing. Julius Randle is out, key role players are banged up or inconsistent, and the rotation is running thin. They’re grinding, but you can see the gas tank is almost empty. The Pacers are killing them in transition. Haliburton is picking them apart with spacing and pace, and the Knicks can’t rotate fast enough. Indiana is playing team basketball, while the Knicks are relying too heavily on isolation heroics. Thibs refuses to adapt his schemes sometimes. If the game plan isn’t working, you gotta shift and he waits too long to make changes. Meanwhile, the Pacers are running surgical plays that make the Knicks look flat footed. New York lost its edge the moment it started playing for the camera instead of the win. They need to stop showboating, humble themselves, refocus on grit, and earn every possession, or this series is about to be a funeral with game 4 as the burial.
