The Portland Trail Blazers completed a stunning comeback, rallying from a 22-point deficit to hand the Oklahoma City Thunder their first loss of the season, 121–119. Trailing 86–81 entering the fourth quarter, Portland outscored OKC 40–33 down the stretch to secure the win.

Deni Avdija led the way for the Blazers with an all-around performance of 26 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assistsβ€”just one assist shy of a triple-double. Jrue Holiday added 22 points, six rebounds, and six three-pointers, while Jerami Grant contributed 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists in the victory.

For the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continued his stellar play with 35 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three made threes. Aaron Wiggins poured in 27 points while hitting seven three-pointers, and Ajay Mitchell chipped in 21 points and four rebounds.

This marks just the second time since the start of last season that Oklahoma City has blown a 20-point leadβ€”the last coming on February 24, 2025, against Minnesota, when they squandered a 25-point advantage and lost in overtime. It’s also the first 20-point comeback win for the Blazers since February 3, 2023, against Washington, and the victory snaps a 16-game losing streak to the Thunder.

With the result, Portland improves to 5–3 on the season, while Oklahoma City falls to 8–1.

It’s always fun to beat a team on the second night of a back to back at home by only two points who is missing four players and three starters. Two of which were All NBA. It’s gives your team a lot of bragging rights. I am glad Drew and Kamara shot 60% from three and Reath shot 80% hopefully this was not a one time thing and they can keep a similar pace.

Man, the refs were trying their asses off to give that game to OKC. People give them way too much credit. They should have lost to Houston and Denver (both of whom outplayed them), and a shitty Maverick’s team took the game to the last minute. Looking forward to them playing more teams like GS or the Lakers (although the upcoming game will be without LeBron so it will be tough to beat them short handed).

SGA’s success in winning games requires him to be an effective foul baiter; if he isn’t, they won’t win

Bro, that last foul wasn’t even a foul Denny didn’t even touch him and they still called it a foul by the way, I’m a blazer fan

The last call on Camara was absolute crap. Joe jumps forward over the 3-point line and kicks his feet out to make contact with Camara, who makes a small hop with his body and arms straight up a foot or two inside the 3-point line. And, yet, they call the foul on Camara. They even reaffirm the ruling in the 2-Minute Report. Completely criminal refereeing top to bottom. If you can’t be straight up within 2 feet of a player taking a jump shot, you simply can’t guard them, and gives undo advantage to the shooter. The refs are not calling the game the way it should be and enforcing the kicking out rule on shooters they previously established. Reeks of favoritism for the champions. Gilgeous-Alexander should have also fouled out when he did a shove off in the final minutes. Literally everyone in the arena saw it. The refs turned a blind eye. Gilgeous-Alexander is given the Allstar treatment and gets away with it. Disgusting.

Great effort by the Blazers overcoming OKC and the corrupt NBA officials. Some of these calls are absolute head scratchers. I didn’t think the NBA could get any worse but if we don’t get some physicality back in the defence soon, the NBA will bleed more fans.
