Carlise has to bench Hali if he is hell bent on being a black hole on offense. You can’t have a guy playing that many minutes while contributing nothing offensively. There is no defensive scheme on Earth that can make anyone shoot twice in 3 and a half quarters. That’s choice.

      June 9, 2025 at 12:51 am

It’s more complicated than that. It’s not black and white like that , minutes don’t have to translate into points if many are indirect. I think Nembhard needed to run the offense more, tho, but he’s not a prolific scorer either

      June 9, 2025 at 1:03 am

McConnell has played better thus far than Hali part from that GW!!

@@dilansanjula1814 The defense was horrible, dudes going into drop-coverage and not understanding how to force SGA to the strong defensive side, Mathurin being completely clueless on D, Hali, Siakam, Turner ALL OF THEM, they all sucked at defense tonight, especially Carlisle, who said NOTHING!

    • @DojoDoggo

      June 9, 2025 at 1:21 am

It’s the defense. It’s the same thing that Anthony Edward’s had to deal with and they said it was “choice”. The choice was to not force heavily defended shots and then face the consequences of relying on your team. They lost from the team not creating good looks for Halliburton and him not creating. The great defense is the cause.

They played their best. OKC is just a lot better. People seem to forget there’s two teams out there sometimes, and they both really want to win.

Pacers had several comebacks this playoffs already, and because of how improbable and exceptional that is, it hid the fact they were not the better team. In the long run though, if you need a miracle to close a game you’re gonna lose more than you win.

To be clear, nothing changed yet, Indy is still the favorite for winning one on the road and while OKC is the better team, they will lose if they don’t execute.

    • @voom456

      June 9, 2025 at 10:03 am

its not a miracle if it happens consistently? it shows their ability to takeover late in games (okc in 7 tho)

You would consider 4 game winners a “lucky day” statistically, that’s not how that works.

  17. @austinfair2258

    June 9, 2025 at 8:15 am

I mean I love the Pacers but it’s clear we’re playing with House money at this point. We are not capable of beating OKC in this series if we play like we did in game 1 and 2. We can turn it on but we really havnt done that yet and it might not even be possible with defense at the level OKC can produce. I love Carlisle saying everybody has to do more and naming Tyrese. You don’t wanna be overrated? Don’t score 5 points in 3 quarters as the top paid guy on your team.

  18. @md11x6

    June 9, 2025 at 8:43 am

Really? Lose one game and making excuses already? Pacers already lost, complaining about fouls. 😭🤣

    • @vw8298

      June 9, 2025 at 10:50 am

Well. I don’t believe it has been brought up. But now that you bring it up. Pacers have lost (tied 3 times) the personal foul battle every single game since game 5 vs bucks. Indy is always competing against the nba.

  19. @rgwebb5165

    June 9, 2025 at 10:26 am

Pacers got open shots in the first quarter. Didnt hit them. 2nd quarter they got taken out of their offense. Carlisle is a wizard. It doesn’t seem like its going to be enough though. When Thunder play well, Pacers can’t beat them. The margin for error just too small.

  23. @nicebus4444

    June 9, 2025 at 6:29 pm

Wow, coach, are you the next Pop?? 1- don’t compare your home crowd with the away crowd, especially after a road loss. If your players can’t rise up in energy for the nba finals, they shouldn’t bother suiting up! 2- If there’s an issue in the locker room, fix it now! Too many guys ‘disappearing’ in this game. I forgot that Siakam was even on the squad. 3- the media is supposed to critique each team’s play. Trust, we all understand it’s just not about points scored (or, in this case, the lack thereof). We noticed the minimal efforts and no adjustments. With only 5 games left, switch it up!!!
