The fact that most NBA fans don’t account for is that Naz Reid is better than both KAT and Randle as an overall player. It’s who they’re going to pay and keep longterm along with ANT, Mcdaniels and Alexander-walker. So trading Randle for KAT is a smart move especially since they got Donte on a great deal. If Randle doesn’t seem like a good long term fit after this season, they can shed his contract and go for a real heavy hitter FA (Giannis etc) and still pay Naz. Donte is also the perfect 6th man piece to keep with a very favorable contract for his production.
The Knicks have risked a lot for KAT and idk if it necessarily makes them better than the Celtics, or even a healthy Bucks or Sixers team.
