“Alperen isn’t just Turkey’s best player — he’s a gift to world basketball.”
His pririoity is the team first all the time.

Alperen was already MVP at 18 in Turkey, but many commentators underestimated him. He’s a rare big man with guard-like vision, high IQ, and humility. Without him, Houston wouldn’t even be close to the top. With him healthy, they are true contenders.

In Turkey, popular commentators like Murat Murathanoğlu and Kaan Kural didn’t fully read his game. Compare them with a young channel like LockedOnRockets — much sharper insights.

Alperen’s talent was clear from the start. Rarely do we see players like Wilt Chamberlain, considered the greatest athlete ever, who once lifted Arnold Schwarzenegger with one hand and averaged 50 rebounds. Alperen isn’t at Wilt’s level yet, but he has that potential: a center with guard-level IQ and passing.

What makes him unique is also his character. He’s humble, family-oriented, and team-first. If he played selfishly, his stats would already rival Giannis. But he chooses to elevate the whole team.

Let’s be real: without Alperen, Houston wouldn’t have finished second. Even with Durant added, take Alperen out and they won’t win. Put him on OKC or the Lakers, and they’d instantly be championship favorites.

Alperen is not just Turkey’s greatest player — he’s becoming one of the NBA’s most impactful stars.

This guy is going to be the best big man in the nba after jokic, okc picked him in the nba draft, imagine if he was the center for them instead of chet holmgren, they could easily 5 peated if they kept him, bare minimum they could have won 8 out of the next 10, what a huge mistake they made by trading him to the rockets
