@Aura Speaks And yet he’s been ranked over Mobley in the Rookie Rankings for more weeks and is currently. The Raps players always get maligned by the US orgs. The moment Lowry got traded to Miami they talked about him more than they ever did when he was in Toronto. I think either Mobley or Cade will win ROTY but not because they’re better players than Barnes. Both of them will have much greater opportunities. When Toronto is healthy it has a starting five that have all scored 25 or more points in a game this season. Barnes will be the 4th option at best in that line up.

@Gerald Cavs are 12-6 when Evan Mobley has played and they only won 19 games the entire last season… the raptors are off to 9-13 start after only losing 19 games last season

@Aura Speaks Yes the Raps have had a horrific spate of injuries that have gutted what they’ve tried to do this year. They also started the year with 9 new players and the heart and soul of the team, Lowry, traded. We’ve had 9 different starting line ups in the first 20 games. So that’s why the Raps haven’t been winning. Barnes is literally beating Mobley in every single offensive metric except free throw percentage. And Mobley has been better defensively. If Barnes had as high a usage as Mobley, this wouldn’t be a conversation. I just think its hilarious that the NBA raves and screams about offense until its a Raptors player, and then defense becomes the defining metric.

@J H 100% correct, once raptors roster is improved and we get a true center scottie will be even better. People seriously forgot that everyone laughed at us for picking scottie and according to the “pro” scouts, scottie had no offense lol

@J H thats because he’s 210 pounds… he is primarily a pf for now and usually only runs center against bench units. but rn he is a pf so center isnt gonna be his natural position especially when we have jarrett allen. the reason mobley is ranked over barnes by most knowledgeable scouts is because his impact on defense. he is a big piece in turning a team that was 25th in defensive rating to a team that is now ranked 4th in drtg. not saying its all him but he is the x factor to the defense. he might not have better stats than barnes but hes heavily contributing to an elite defense while putting up similar numbers.

@j its no where near all him he is probibly the most versatile defender because hes fast but i know he isn’t guarding guards at full court his entire time out like scottie was switching from harden to kd none stop defending whoever was doing well at the time all the stats he beats scottie in defensively are achieved in large part because the way the team play not just him not to mention scottie being more consistent no matter who is out so how is mobley better?

@J H once again, mobley is a more impactful defender. he provides nearly elite help defense and rim protection which makes the whole team defense better. this cavs team was pretty much the same as last year except rubio and mobley so i think itโs fair to assume mobley is a big reason the team defense is so good. scottie doesnโt elevate his teammates like that. also, mobley has only played one game without allen so is it really fair to say scottieโs more consistent when mobley has only one game without allen. the cavs have played so many games where mobley played great but lauri or kevin love was out for covid and collin whoโs out for the rest of the season.

Mobley 33 mpg, Barnes 35 mpg, Cade 31 mpg, Franz 31 mpg. Sengun is only 18 mpg. He still manages to make a difference. God potential.

Minutes vs Usage. Barnes has more minutes but they don’t run anything for him. He’s essentially having to create his own points. Toronto has a starting five that, when healthy, have all, individually scored 25 points or more in a game. Barnes is only the 4th option in that line up so fewer touches.

This years draft class have a lot of star potential prospects.
