I’ll be honest… I was looking forward to Stephen A this morning yelling, “THIS BROTHA IS BACK”

Nope. They’re better without K.D. Brooklyn is 19-4 without him. They’re 17-12 with him. It’s gonna disrupt their game. Because it’s gonna come down to see who wants to score the most points. Especially K.D and Harden. I think the Jazz, Clippers, or the Suns will come out of the West and win it all.

Defense could matter if the game is close. But if you are closing out a game with Harden, Kyrie, Griffin and Aldridge on the floor…. how will the other team stop them? Literally cannot double anyone….

People seem to forget that you have to play defense in the playoffs

Keep that same energy. Don’t let the media brainwash you dude. Watch the games. Look at recent years not 10 years ago.

If anybody thinks the Nets haven’t been playing defense they bugging out, lately the nets have been playing really good defense.

Most of these comments come from people who don’t have league pass. They aren’t watching the games man. Casuals really think the Lakers are gonna breeze through the league lmao.

NETS own the league. If you don’t have league pass to watch the games then stfu because you aren’t creditable. Go watch before you spit your biases. Nets and 76ers are the 2 best teams in the league.

one could argue that a game where winners are mostly top-rated defensive teams is actually an offense-dominant game. Just because in a way, it could mean that “because it’s so hard to defend, those who are good at it have a huge avantage”

I saw nets lock down Zion yesterday though, their defense is decent

Zion is super good but the Pelicans aren’t great offensively without Ingram.

You can always tell who the casuals are with the Nets, because they’re going to bring up defense, when for all practical matters, they’re a decent to good defensive team. Their overall defensive rating is being dragged down because of that time where they traded away their pieces for Harden and needed time to figure things out on the fly. But since the 2nd half of the 2/16 Phoenix game, they’ve been at the very worst, solid defensively. Not great. Not top 10. But solid. They aren’t giving up 122 points to the Pistons or anything like that in this stretch. We can just use the entire season as a sample, but given the number of new pieces on the team, a new head coach, loads of time missed by their stars, and major restrictions on summer camp or in season practices, I would key in on what they’ve done over the past six weeks as a greater indicator of who they are.

If you want to say “Decent isn’t usually good enough to win a title” fine. But this is also a team that can casually drop 130 on you. The Pelicans scored 59 points in the first half (due to the pace of the game), and they were still down 20. That was an easy day at the office for Brooklyn. Easy. They are not the defensive sieve that people say.

I’d be surprised if they lost more than 2 games if all three are playing.

No. Defense is a question. Chemistry is a question. James Harden never showing up in the playoffs is a question. On paper, they look good, but there is a reason they play the games. The Clippers, Bucks, Lakers and Nuggets may have something to say.
