TMac was a 7x All Star, 7x All NBA, and 2x Scoring Champ. In the playoffs he averaged 32/7/6 in the playoffs from 01-05.
Yet he never won a single playoff series (not counting the Spurs where he got picked up right before the playoffs and basically didn’t play).
His legacy is one of the greatest scorers ever who played on some not great teams and never won a playoff series.
peak t-mac would be absolutely insane in today’s league. his combination of size, athleticism and shooting would translate so well to modern basketball. back then he was already pulling up from deep and creating his own shot at will – imagine him with today’s spacing and pace.

Men listen 02 to 03 McGrady was my favorite player in the league before lebron came in. This new age of podcast and sports analyst will really have you believe that players like McGrady underachievers but reality of the matter is orlando never surrounded him with enough talent, so in that era you had to play with what you had. …everyone was expecting T-Mac to be the #1 scoring option in Orlando. He had a lethal scoring arsenal; and it was just a matter of time for him to load it up. His scoring titles were basketball destiny.
