San Antonio Spurs forward-center Victor Wembanyama and Detroit Pistons guard-forward Ausar Thompson have been named the Kia NBA Western and Eastern Conference Defensive Players of the Month, respectively, for games played in March.

Defensive player of the century more like. He should sweep the awards this year if they win a championship. DPOY, MVP, 1st Team All-NBA, 1st Team All-Defense. Its Giannis level dominance from 2019-2020. Cant wait for the playoffs to see if he has another level to take his game to because you already know Ant/Kawhi/Booker/Murray/SGA/JDub/Luka come out swinging in the postseason. Im a Bennedict Mathurin truther too I know that guy has good postseason hoops in him if they get out the play in.

DPOY for atleast the next 10 years is Wemby’s given he plays 65 games. Not even voter fatigue can stop this. No clear competitor in defense against Wemby plus him actually dominating defense by a margin will be a factor. Idk who would be the closest? Chet?

I feel strongly that if a person blocks a shot AND gets the ball back to himself, that should count as a block and a steal. It’s too bad that it has not been that way in the past but I feel very strongly that it should be given how many of these types of blocks Wemby has had.
