Player of the Month and Defensive Player of the Month. This dude’s definitely winning MVP and DPOY in the same season

He’s on pace on becoming the best defensive player of all time. What’s even crazier is how good of an offensive player he is already. Most elite defensive players aren’t that good offensively, and yet Wemby has shown that he has all of the mechanics to be one of the best offensive players in the game. Once he perfects his offense along with becoming more defensively elite, he’ll easily be the greatest 2 way player of all time.

      You’re absolutely correct!
I want him to keep developing that Tim Duncan/KD mid range he’s a killer with it and it would make defenses collapse every time 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

I’m not even a Jordan fan (I think LeBron’s better), but I think MJ has the GOAT 2-Way Player title on lock. He made both All-NBA 1st and All-Defense 1st in the same season nine times. Tim Duncan didn’t do that, Kawhi didn’t do it, Giannis didn’t do it, even Kobe didn’t do it, and he played for 20 years

Bro is quite literally a mixture between KD and Mutombo, that’s crazy to think about. Like literally just him being an insane rim protector/defender alone makes him a star player and then you add him into him being a great scorer and shooter.

I have said this before but once this dude’s career set & done DPOY will be named after him it’s a possibility

I was about to be like there’s no way they’re taking that from Bill Russell, but I looked it up and Hakeem has the DPOY trophy, probably because Russell has Finals MVP and they didn’t want to give him two.

I don’t know how the NBA feels about changing the player for whom the trophies are named, but if they’re willing, I could see Wemby having a career that warrants it for DPOY.

Although tbh I think it should be named after Ben Wallace or even Dwight Howard.

Bro this being posted next to Derrick White with DOUBLE the blocks is unintentionally disrepsectful lol

To be fair, Wemby is a 7’4 alien and White is a guard

It’s going to be higher in the playoffs.

Against lower-seeded teams. The better teams will make adjustments to reduce his defensive impact

When Wemby retires, they should name this award – The Wembanyama DPOY Award.

He is leading in stocks (steals+blocks) and what’s crazy is his game played is way lower than the others in the top 10. Wow.
