The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Miami Heat 107–101 to remain undefeated at 5–0, marking the best start in franchise history and their first five-game winning streak since March 2019.
Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 27 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 blocks, while Stephon Castle added 21 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals. Bam Adebayo paced the Heat with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 threes, and Andrew Wiggins contributed 24 points and 6 rebounds.

With his first block of the night, Wembanyama extended his streak to 90 consecutive games with a block, passing Patrick Ewing (88) for the fourth-longest streak in NBA history. He joins an elite group that includes Patrick Ewing (145), Dikembe Mutombo (116), and Mark Eaton (94)—all top-10 all-time in career blocks.

Wembanyama also became just the third Spur ever to open a season with five straight double-doubles, joining Tim Duncan and David Robinson. Through five games, he’s totaled 151 points, 73 rebounds, and 24 blocks—making him the first player since Bob McAdoo in 1975–76 to record at least 150 points, 70 rebounds, and 20 blocks in his team’s first five games.

Obviously we love Wemby and he’s incredible. But let’s give credit for Castle having made a real jump just in his 2nd year. His defense is awesome

Say what you want about the Spurs this team is young but has the heart to win and wemby is the anchor and it shows in the passion he has for the game and the Spurs. That is why San Antonio was the best place for him to come to play

GGs to the Spurs. Man Ware and Jovic 0 points in this close game. Very disappointing. Bam played great went at anyone and play aggressively. Wiggins good game, Fontecc lead the bench. On to the Next one. GO HEAT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
