Chinese here but Sotto at the same age was better on everything but court vision. The CCP lover Portland Trailblazers was taking Yang because of the Chinese market, they just happened to see some of his potential. It’s all for clout.

After the first game the scouting report must be out for Yang Hansen and the grizzlies are swiping the ball more often because his handles are still below average and he doesn’t protect the ball well enough. They also go under the screen and let him shoot the 3s as his shot from deep isn’t quiet there yet and opponents will take their chances. If the opposint big decided to drop he won’t have room to make those passes. The positives is that Hansan didn’t force those passes and instead goes to the handoffs instead or drive to the basket. He also missed a box-out against smaller guards as well as shown in the highlights which means he needs to adjust to the speed of the game. The jury is still out on the defensive end against bigs but his positioning is there and can often challenge shots without fouling. We also haven’t seen him play longer minutes so his stamina is also a question. So basically The Blazsers traded down to draft a servicable center who’s floor is a good passing backup at the middle of the first round so overall that isn’t bad but he isn’t jokic yet. He’ll need to work to protect the ball, shoot 3s better, and some nuiance playing against pesky guard with faster hands.

the joker wasn’t the joker until like 6 years into his own career. You are asking a 20 year old kid to be immediately as impactful which is absurd. Compare him against the rookie year Jokic he got tons of potential. At 10th-16th pick like 90% of the time you will only get a player who‘s gonna vanish in the NBA in 5 years anyways. So I have no idea why people act like this pick is supposed to produce immediate results.
