He did the same thing to Derrick Rose

He did this in Chicago, and worked poor Derek Rose to death, even after he just recovered from injuries.

It makes me mad to read and hear some true Knicks fans and fake Knicks fans(SAS) criticize Tom. JB, Randle, OG, you name the player, they want to play, they love playing, they wanna be out there every game. As for yesterday, yes it was a 20 point lead, but in the NBA, that’s nothing, especially with 8+ mins to go. When Randle got injured, Miami still had it’s starters in and we’re trying to come back and win the game. OG is out not because he was injured late in a game. Mitch is injury prone, Grimes was a normal basketball injury. JB has to be out there because the game was far from over and with all the piled up injuries, players are gonna lag more minutes. Dante played 40mins, he’s been playing a lot of minutes as well and he has been fine(๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป) and if you see statistics it’s not like they’re averaging 40mins a game and are not even at the top in average playing time. We can’t afford to be like Boston, Milwaukee or some of the top West teams and rest players or “load manage” because we need home court and we need to stay in the top 4 at least. Injuries are gonna happen, they can happen in the first minute, the last and in between. So stop blaming Tom for something he can’t control. We saw when we were up 25+ the other game JB, Randle, Dante and most of our starters didn’t play basically the 2nd half of the 4th quarter. Ultimately it comes down to the players and if they wanted to “load manage” they would’ve said something to coach privately and it would’ve been done. And one last thing, Rick Brunson is part of the coaching staff, I have no doubt in my mind that if he thought that his son was being overworked or overplayed and put in situations that would endanger his well being and livelihood, he would voice his opinion strongly.

Thibs is exhausting his players like what he did in chicago. Thats why, Derick Rose become fragile. Please Thibs handle your players with care… ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿคฌ This is aint College Basketball, This is NBA playing 82 games a year. So you wake up you are not Coach Carter… ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ

Can’t have it both ways. Brunson puts up these numbers because he gets minutes and wins. Thibs has NOT changed his coaching style so what do you NYK fans want?!๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

Thibs is Notorious for putting too much on his players plate, think about the D Rose career ending injury ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜’

I am happy Stephen A brought this up.
I track the minutes the players play under Thibideau and Nick Nurse.
They both have a reputation of running their players into the ground, and not playing their bench players.
This was a big problem with Nick Nurse in Toronto.
The fans were frustrated. Analysts spoke about it many times. They were ignored.
There is no focus on developing players. Scottie Barnes was lucky he is built that way.
As a rookie, Scottie was playing 40 minutes per game and OT minutes.
Kyle Lawry was always hurt, because he played too many minutes, and came back while he was still recovering from injury.
Fred was injured many times, so was Scottie.
The players do improve their games but certainly will have short careers.
When Nurse started at Philadelphia, he played Embid and Maxey 40 mins each game.
He was asked about this in an interview. He said he stick with the same players who play well.
What about developing a bench to have more depth?
    The fans were frustrated.
Thibideau ran Julius Randle into the ground.
He was hurt and was frustrated.
OG had to deal with Nick Nurse in Toronto, and now Thibideau in New York.
    Not very good.
The long minutes take a toll on players’ bodies.
    They are not animals.
I check warriors players’ games, since 2015, they do not play more than 25 to 30 mins. per night, unless it’s overtime.
For years Warriors had a solid bench.
Memphis grizzlies players do not play long minutes. Why? They have depth.

The NBA should not allow coaches to take advantage of players, because they love to play basketball.
They should monitor, and protect them, not run them into the ground.

In spite of some of the comments here, players are human, the game is faster There is still the play offs.

Ppl get hurt, yeah thibs play them alot of mins. But everyone knew this for years so why complain. We winning. It sux but they just got to keep putting that hard work and effort. Let’s just take it one game at a time. We good

Do people not realize or remember that Coach Tibs is the reason that Derrick Rose got injured and could never be the same!?!?

The New York Knicks will loose in the Eastern Conference Semis against the mighty Boston Celtics, 4-3.

  19. @marcom3567

    February 8, 2024 at 8:02 am

Thibs should be in convo for coach of the year. He does not need superstars to be in 3rd place and eventually rise up in Eastern Conference standings. He is not running his players into ground. Thibs and staff has conditioned his team to play. So Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley, Mason, Starks, etc and all of the past players runned to the ground playing many minutes under Riley? No excuse! At the end ring is what matters! You condition yourself and rise above all the gas out conditioning and that is what elevates greatness. Kobe and MJ donโ€™t say Iโ€™m playing to many minutes to win 6 rings๐Ÿ˜‚
