@Justin Gomez Vlatko, Monte, Vanderbilt, and now Tyson, plus Peyton Watson could basically count too since he was the very last pick of the first round. Jury is still up on Bol Bol also until he fixes his attitude.

They don’t need to be superstars to be considered steals, just need to at least be players that can be depended on when called upon. Many of these guys are better than some of the high picks Sixers had during their “Process”.

Nuggets are good at finding players outside of the lottery in general, Murray is basically the only Nuggets high draft pick who turned into a key player for the team since Melo.

I still didn’t know why Cam Whitmore was selected with lower pick than I expected by Houston in NBA draft 2023.

Hunter Tyson is the biggest steal of them all. He’s 23 so not some kid. He’s 6’8″ with long arms, he’s not super skinny, has decent speed, can pass, handle and definitely shoot and appears to have great basketball IQ and a feel for the game. If you look him up on Basketball Reference you’ll see that he spent 5 years in college and his numbers progressed very nicely over the years. In his final season at college he made 83 3-point field goals. He made 86 in the other 4 years combined. He ended up shooting .405 from 3 point range and .838 from the line in his final year and averaged just under 35 minutes per game getting 15 points and 10 rebounds and only 35 turnovers for the whole season.

A player that already has these skills going into the Nuggets organization immediately after they win a championship is going to do very well.

It’s the likes of Tyson and Christian Braun that make me not worry too much about the Nuggets losing Bruce Brown. They might not be as good as Bruce would have been this year, but they’re definitely better than a lot of other NBA options out there in terms of attitude and work ethic.
