Teams need to be in Donovan’s ear. Probably wouldn’t take much to convince him to leave Utah. Seems like every season the have a good to hear regular season, then get bounced out early on the playoffs.

Utah needs a small-ball center with an offensive game that they can bring off the bench, or they need a larger power forward with an interior game.

Jazz was 1st seed last year and was leading 2-0 against Clippers with no Kawhi. Yet they still lose that one. This year Luka was out first 3 games and yet they were 1-2. Their biggest weakness is Gobert. With his big long term contract, they need to trade him or it would be too late for them in the future.

Sometimes chuck has some awful takes. Gobert doesn’t have an offensive game. It’s not on the coach. You need to feed him easy buckets and he shot almost 70% from FT line which is not bad and didn’t become a liability for utah.

Stats would say Gobert is the greatest defensive center of all-time but I think he is highly overrated. He is playing in a much faster tempo game where stat accumulation is higher, and he is playing in a small ball era with mostly 6’9 centers. Not only that, he is practically a net negative offensively in an offensive minded game, and had a terrible defensive series averaging only 1 block a game, and only has 1 steal the entire series. Any guard with a semblance of a handle can force him to overcommit and we saw that on multiple plays.
He had a major advantage too, vs dwight powell and kleber two unconventional passive forwards one of which doesnt even space the floor to shoot. They are not strong rebounders either and yet gobert still had an ineffective series vs both of them, and struggled on pick and roll switches. regardless of plus/minus he was literally a non factor this series, worse this year then ben simmons showing last year. He has been getting away with doing this for years with this team not having any playoff success, and we saw it in this series again.
