Is my knowledge of the rules obsolete, or is number 9 a long 2-pointer? His feet land quite clearly inside the arc…I always thought that the shot depended on where you land?

The shot is where your feet are set when leaving the ground. It doesn’t matter where you land at all. Most players shoot with their feet set out side the 3 pt line but end up landing in the line because of hip sway and just general shooting mechanics
