I’ve been a Rockets fan my whole life…….we screwed up. 2 seasons ago when we were the 2nd seed and the future was bright, we should not have fast tracked things and traded for KD. We weren’t close to real title contenders. Should’ve focused on developing the young core. Last season felt like none of the young core took a step forward, everyone was too reliant on KD
And with the current apron system, we’re kind of screwed. Whatever hopes for a title are realistically gone.

KD have to play 32 minutes or less a game next season at year 20. They’re in trouble if he plays high minutes

Fred is not 100% yet. Rockets must learn from DFS experience last season, do not rush Fred or any of the other injured Rockets back until they are 100%. A healthy Fred should take Alp to another level in the 2 man game. Or 3 man game with both KD-Alp.
Also Fred admits that he does not play the game fast, even when he is healthy. But Rockets young players are built for speed. There needs to be a lineup that pushes tempo to really optimize Amen and Reed. Even if this unit only plays limited minutes, this should be another facet of the offense that must be developed.

A healthy Steven Adams makes this Rockets team truly elite offensively – please do not rush him back, we need him 100% in postseason. And I hope Tshiebwe, another elite offensive rebounder, makes the active 15 and is critical part of the rotation.
On a different note – Stevo is always an amazing interview, his comments are not scripted and his insights are truly enlightening if not downright hilarious.

Smart’s intangibles are off the charts – he is going to make Amen, Tari and Reed so much sharper, especially defensively. His defensive IQ is insane and he is a willing teacher as well. Really wanted Rockets to sign him last season but better late than never.

Alp is absolutely correct, the young core (every single one of them) all stepped up in the postseason, their stats actually took a jump vs regular season. The problem was the lack of depth, there was no bench. Fred, Stevo, KD and even DFS were in street clothes. And the remainder of the bench did absolutely nothing to help the young core.
Everyone dumps on the young guns but Stone needs to be held accountable for doing nothing to bolster a decimated roster and the worst bench scoring in the entire NBA.

Tate is still built like a middle linebacker and he is such a professional, he must have a ton of great stories. But I hope he can take advantage of Chip Engelland because his spacing/scoring is too limited right now.
