America, could you make a last minute replacement of Biden with Hill? I like to hear from famous people and politician that they don’t know something when the don’t but on top of that he seemed to have digested a lot of knowledge on the subject in really short time.

This is the greatest over reaction since Jimmy Carter banned the 1980 Olympic team from going to Russia. More people have died by car accidents than the virus this last week. Do we stop using cars? No.

Most world leaders realize this, but the problem is if you just let it run its course like a usual flu you are going to have a ton of elderly in the ICU and we simply don’t have enough beds and equipment for all of them. I don’t know how much knowledge sports figures have, but governments are cancelling because of hospital strain not because it is going to be like the Black Death or something. That said, even if you are younger, you’d rather not get it because there’s a chance it gets into the lungs, and once you get pneumonia, regardless of age there is a risk of death.

      March 13, 2020 at 10:30 am

@Fredrick Frederickson exactly. Imagine in USA a number of 2 million of infected. 10% at hospital 5% in intensive care. You are totally sure that the health system will resist at this extreme “stress test”?

    • Catherine Fraser

      March 13, 2020 at 11:15 pm

Domenico Scarfiello can the US healthcare system support the high level of contagion and the 2-4% death toll? No and no. Can you or I handle the death of our parents or grandparents? No and no. We can isolate, work from home, stockpile, and absorb some economic hardship? Yes and yes. We have some remarkable individuals and some amazing sport and artistic talent.

Very articulately said by Grant Hill, perhaps he should be the new commissioner of the NBA. Health is number one, glad they understood that instead of thinking about financial gains or losses.
