Of course. But the important part is that he has respect for Arnaldi (plus, I think Cobolli would’ve won if they played)

Arnaldi is ill, he has a.stomach virus or food intoxication, still not sure. It was his first every semi in a Grand Slam and he couldn’t even play.

If Cobolli is unaffected by this mystery illness I will remain skeptical of their story.

Call it conspiracy but Rafa tried to stop Djokovic from winning another title by pulling out. It meant his opponent had the advantage (Kyrgios because he’s fresher for the final). Now of course you can’t prove it.
It’s the same here. The two Italians got together and worked out who has the better chance of winning the whole thing. Of coarse being honest Cabolli. You still get the same prize money if you play except you haven’t exhausted yourself so Italy will win.
But this doesn’t always go to plan as Rafa found out.
And Cobolli may or may not find out that it helps a lot depending on the final, and who lifts the trophy in the end.
Of coarse none of what im saying can be proven but I highly suspect!
There can also come to an agreement of a % of the final that would obviously go to Arnaldi if he was stubborn and at first rejected the idea.
For the dummies the clue here is two Italians playing. Say no more but the above was an explanation for the real dummies.
Federer even guilty of it. At AO he threw one set away (maybe more) 💯 as he knew, and by the way indirectly mentioned in press conference it was to taxing to go through five sets and expect to beat Djokovic in the next match. Except there was a good chance he would of lost either way, beat Millman in 3 or 5 Djokovic was ready. But 5 meant no chance so he gave it to him as a gift rather than fighting where he definitely would of if his opponent next up were anyone lesser. Didn’t help Milkman either.
