United States Olympic Gold Medalist in Track & Field Tommie Smith joins a new episode of #NBATogether with Ernie Johnson. Smith reflects on the powerful moment he and John Carlos shared during the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. Smith and Carlos made headlines around the world by raising their fists with black gloves at the medal award ceremony. Both athletes wore black socks and no shoes on the podium to symbolize African-American poverty in the US.
