I know people like to compare Steph Curry to Magic Johnson, but let’s be honest — Magic is in a different stratosphere, he’s the GOAT point guard, and it’s not close.

    Here’s why, straight up:
    • Scoring versatility: Magic was a legit post scorer, especially against smaller guards. Steph is a better shooter, but Magic could score inside, in transition, and in the post in ways Steph just couldn’t physically do.
    • Passing: Magic is the best passer ever, not just better than Steph — better than anyone. He controlled games with playmaking in a way Steph never has.
    • Defense: Magic was clearly the better defender. His size (6’9), strength, and IQ let him guard multiple positions. Steph is solid, but teams still hunt him.
    • Rebounding: Magic clears easily. He rebounded like a forward and regularly grabbed 7–9 boards a game as a “guard.”
    • Accolades:
    • More MVPs (3 vs 2)
    • More rings (5 vs 4)
    • More Finals MVPs (3 vs 1)
    • Playoff dominance: Magic went to 9 Finals in 12 seasons. That’s insane consistency as the engine of a dynasty.
    • All-time moment: Magic is the only rookie ever to win Finals MVP, and he literally played center in the Finals and dropped 42/15/7 in a closeout game. Steph has no moment that touches that.
    • Impact on winning: Steph changed spacing and shooting, but Magic ran the entire game — pace, offense, leadership, and playoff control.

Steph is the greatest shooter ever and an all-time legend. But Magic did everything, at a higher level, with more success, and more responsibility.

    Bottom line:
    Steph is an all-time great.
Magic Johnson is the GOAT point guard
