St. Louisan here. Loved Jake and miss that he’s no longer a member of the St. Louis Blues.

    Here’s a feel-good story about Jake Allen:
A few years ago, I arrived early at a Blues-Canadiens game to watch Jake and his Montreal Canadiens teammates during the pre-game skate. We watched while two rows from the ice and right next to their bench.
After taking his warm-ups, Jake had his leg over the bench while their equipment guy adjusted his pads. Despite energetic efforts to get Jake’s attention, the little boy didn’t appear to succeed in getting Jake to notice his hand-made signs, which proclaimed he’s a big fan and misses Jake, who was a member of the St. Louis Blues the prior year.
After the equipment guy was finished, Jake had him get one of his goalie sticks. Jake skated over to the lad and handed the stick to him over the glass partition. The kid was ecstatic! And his dad, watching all this while sitting next to his son, was even more excited for his boy. (Being a dad myself, that almost brought a tear to my eye.)
No doubt that father and son will remember that moment for the rest of their lives.
    So will I.
