Rachel Nichols, Richard Jefferson and Paul Pierce discuss the New York Knicks decision to trade PF Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks and how detrimental it has been for the franchise.
F Porzingus he literally missed a season n over 120 games he’s a 7 foot injury waiting to happen that’s a fact,we will get another lottery pick this draft and I guarantee we won’t be holding our breath every time he jumps off the ground.
It really doesn’t matter. This is just something to complain about in the moment. The best case scenario is that they would have become a 1st round team for a year or 2, and he would have left in 4 or 5 years, when his next contract expired, as a declining player who never lived up to the hype and “could have been” a top guy. They weren’t going to win a championship, and they weren’t going to make it to the Finals. KD wasn’t going to go there. Kyrie wasn’t going to go there.
Shut your mouth ESPN. You change your opinion every 12 hours. And Jefferson, you are not an expert. You just have a motormouth. Nothing you say makes the needle move.
I understand most people disagree and that’s fair, but KP isn’t Giannis. He isn’t LeBron. He isn’t Doncic. He’s a great 2nd guy (who maybe could develop into an MVP level player if he stays healthy) with a big injury question mark who got a FULLY GUARANTEED 5 years 158 million dollars. That risk makes no sense for a Knicks team without a Doncic type franchise player. Knicks are not good but they are smart to stay flexible going forward. Get some more young talent and keep building without giving out huge multi-year deals (unless it’s for good players without KP’s injury history)
The Knicks team now could have had both KP and RJ Barrett on the same team right now. Their future could have looked very bright and literally a player away, probably a PG away from really competing in the East.

Knicks never deserved Porzingis, especially the fans that booed him on draft night.

The kod who raped a chic? The kid whose big brother runs the show? He didn’t wanna play for the knicks so why keep an injured guy?
