The flag is just a symbol. It is up to us to uphold the ideals it represents. It’s okay if some people get offended by others kneeling during the anthem. It’s okay if some people get upset when people voice their opinions. Just remember that we are all Americans.

This is a perception/perspective problem.
It’s the bi-product of systematic oppression. History (real history) will tell and show you every answer for every question you have. If you are inquisitive and honest with yourself you will understand the whole picture.
Empathy must be practiced to be good at using it. Manifest destiny is a real doctrine. Intuition needs to be applied to see through lies.
Some of the pictures on your wall of angels and god represent putting white people closer to god.
Historically inaccurate portrayals of Jesus full that belief.
I could go on, but I think it’s time for some of us to step out of our comfort zones of being victims to things we disagree with. If a man kneels…
Ask him why and then ask yourself if you would do the same.
Sometimes a gesture can be an unpopular voice for those who won’t listen…

I am with Kenny. This isn’t news. I don’t buy that DB has never heard about the inequality, injustice, and discrimination African Americans face 24/7/365 and have been for over 400 years. He has made the choice to never think about it. Also I personally don’t think of fixing my own mistakes and wrong doings as helping others.

Drew Brees was VERY insensitive and untimely with his comments. Question: Didn’t Yahoo Sports ask Brees specifically about the flag/anthem? If not, then Brees got to eat all the heat coming at him. If so, then I’m more in line with Shaq & Chuck. Either way, Brees should’ve been smarter with his answers, especially with the “awakening” of many non-Black Americans.

Yahoo Finance directly asked him about his stance of the flag and kneeling during the anthem. A clip I saw from before that was his stance on what was going on, if I understood it right. It was a good statement thought but I have only heard that part referenced once and all the rest is from the later part of the interview.( I could be wrong but I think that’s what I saw.)

What does “the flag means different things to different people” mean? So shouldn’t he respect for his teammates that wanna kneel because the flag means something to me?
